POSITION SUMMARY

Plan, direct, and coordinate the layout, installation, set-up and launch for the remanufacturing of turbochargers. Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing processes using lean manufacturing principles, utilizing knowledge of turbocharger design. The job requires a broad knowledge of the design, componentry, function and testing of light to heavy duty vehicle turbochargers. The work will require close interaction with floor personnel, engineering, quality and maintenance to ensure a successful launch and continued growth.

PRINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop Flow Charts, PFMEAs, and work instructions for the turbocharger remanufacturing processes.

  • Designs safe and efficient workstations/cells utilizing lean manufacturing principles and maintains up to date plant layout.

  • Defines, procures and validates the equipment, tooling and fixtures.

  • Establishes equipment, tool and fixture tracking system and maintains drawings and manuals.

  • Establishes equipment preventive maintenance schedule and coordinates the execution with maintenance team.

  • Performs process capability studies.

  • Trains production operators on the new and improved processes.

Addresses process related issues contributing to the product quality in a timely manner.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree in engineering and at least 2+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing environment.

  • Bachelors degree in manufacturing, mechanical, industrial or related field.

  • Experience with automotive manufacturing or remanufacturing

  • Strong problem-solving skills; Six Sigma certification preferred

  • CNC programming

  • Experience in tool and fixture design using CAD

  • Team player

  • Analytical skills

  • Multi-tasking ability to prioritize a wide variety of projects and deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
