Mechanical Products is a stand-alone business unit with about $600M in annual revenue.

Australia, and New Zealand with over 3,600employees.

We are currently searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to be based out Houston, TX with duel responsibilities for the Kokomo, IN location. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for the development & troubleshooting on new products as related to design, material, or process. Creating concepts, verifying designs, and creating prototypes

The ideal candidate will have a 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing environment. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate & participate in concept brainstorming & ideation sessions

  • Lead the R&D development and scale-up through stage gate process, ensuring milestone commitments are achieve

  • Influence and propel multi-functional team members to achieve stretch goals

  • Work as a "hands-on" Engineer in performing prototyping, development & troubleshooting on new products as related to design, material, or process

  • Create concepts, verify designs, and create prototypes

  • Plan and design experiments and conduct data analysis in support of concept testing

  • Design and implement test methods and equipment to support product development

  • Responsible for research & engineering documentation and overseeing verification test

  • Understand applicable industry and regulatory standards (UL, FM etc.) for product development

  • Solve complex problems and make sound design recommendations

  • Conduct feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality or to assess existing technologies

  • Research future concepts within market including the monitoring of technology trends

  • Provided technical assistance for troubleshooting & diagnosing design and manufacturing quality problems

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering

  • 3-5 years' experience in manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.

  • Excellent Communication, Presentation Skills and Analytical Skills.

  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in the use of Windows Applications: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint & Word.

  • Excellent in 3D CAD applications Solid Work Certifications Required

  • Experience with a development stage gate process is highly desired

  • Excellent problem solving and creativity skillset

  • 40% travel required
