Founded in 1953, Aerosonic has grown to be a leader in aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment - including air data systems, standby displays, digital and mechanical standby instruments, sensors and probes. Our customers include the major manufacturers of today's civil, military and business fixed wing and rotorcraft platforms as well as all branches of the US military forces. We are currently seeking an on-site Manufacturing Engineer for our Clearwater, FL facility.
The right candidate will: Provide effective manufacturing engineering support to develop, direct, and implement the systems, technologies, processes, and methods used for the manufacturing and qualification of Aerosonic products with particular focus on the mechanical, electrical, and machined components and assemblies. Utilize key process indicators such as the voice of the customer, first pass yield data, inspection results, audit results etc. to analyze and drive process and efficiency improvements. Use risk analysis tools to identify and to mitigate potential process risks. Lead the team in root cause analysis to identify true root cause and mitigate recurrences for quality escapes. Participate in product development and launch activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Possess an in-depth knowledge of: Solid works/CAD software tools, fixture, and tool design; and GD&T.
Goal-driven and team-oriented engineer ready to contribute continuous improvement strategies to manufacturing systems and processes.
Energetic, enthusiastic, adaptable, detail oriented, problem solver with excellent computer and software skills who enjoys new challenges every day.
A good understanding of standard manufacturing systems and concerns: Cost Estimation and Analysis, Capacity Planning, Line Balancing, Lean Manufacturing, 5-S, 1st Article Inspection Report, PFMEAs, Process Control Plans, Process Mapping, Quality/Process Auditing, GD&T, First Pass Yield, FMEA, SPC, DOE, ESD, FOD, BOM's, and structured root cause and corrective action problem solving.
Ability to develop production assembly solutions and documentation that assures the product quality and customer's satisfaction are consistently exceeded. Experience with process planning, scheduling and the justification of equipment and tooling is important.
A strong working knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical instruments is a plus.
Qualifications:
Candidate must have Bachelor of Science in Engineering Field, or the equivalent experience - 8 or more years in a progressively responsible manufacturing engineering role.
Strong PC skills, including Adobe, MRP systems, and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Access.
2-year minimum experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role and working in a team environment.
Must be able to work with ITAR products and related data without restriction.
Skill Set Required:
Experience in automotive and/or Aerospace manufacturing environments.
Six Sigma Green belt or higher.
Familiarity with GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009 Standards.
Strong background in precision machining.
Strong background with brazing and welding standards.
Experience with Configuration management, and product life cycles.
High level of PC Proficiency.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
Self-starter with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated with the ability to effectively work with others in various coordinate disciplines, on multi-national teams, and to prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
