Manufacturing Engineer

A manufacturing company near Maryville, TN is looking for a Manfuacturing Engineer. This role is working in a high-volume manufacturing environment in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities:

• Directly support manufacturing continuous improvement activities.

• Recommend and assist in creation of effective set-up and maintenance procedures.

• Design and execute trials to reduce cost: scrap reduction, cycle time reduction, Gentani, and short stop reduction.

• Capability studies

• Support Maintenance and Manufacturing as required on breakdowns, startups, and set-ups.

• Be the technical expert

• Manufacturing process design and equipment specification.

• Investigate and formulate actions to mitigate "why make" side of non-conforming product flow-out issues.

• Participate in new program manufacturing planning reviews.

• Plan and execute process development trials to achieve process capabilities required.

• Support manufacturing improvement and Kaizen teams.

• Perform other duties as assigned to achieve departmental objectives provided.

Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering related field or relevant experience

• 2+ years of experience

• Mass production experience, ideally in automotive

• Experience working in an automated manufacturing environment

• Experience with capability studies (SPC, cpk studies)

• Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience working with robots (Denso or Fanuc)

• Experience with Vision systems

• Experience with servos

• Press fit experience

• Experience with nutrunners, press/load cells

• Unipulse experience
