Position Description:

Posting for a Welding/Joining Engineer in Body Department

  • Skills Required:

  • Weber FDS & Henrob SPR System knowledge

  • X-section knowledge

  • Aluminum Laser Welding understanding

  • Apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes & products

  • Implement interim & permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6 panel, etc

  • Manage and direct statistical process control activities; Knowledge of and ability to execute measurement systems analysis & variable data analysis; Identify sources of variation within a production environment

  • Support expedited concern resolution with cross functional teams including Quality, Production and Suppliers

  • Review incoming quality concerns to maintain quality with assigned area

  • Experience with initiating containment, determining root cause and implementing corrective actions.

Skills Preferred:

  • Previous automotive, engineering & quality analysis experience

  • Prior supervisory experience managing unionized work force

  • Previous experience as a Production Supervisor

Experience Required:

  • Supervise hourly inspection employees

  • Develop and manage joining techniques, materials and technologies

  • Apply knowledge of joining tech

Education Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering

Education Preferred:

  • Masters in Engineering

VIEW JOBS 9/11/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-12-10T00:00 Position Description: The Final Assembly Manufacturing Engineering Program Implementation Team is a cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to implement and manage the plans required to launch vehicle programs at assembly plants. The Manufacturing Engineer candidate will be a part of this team and be responsible for the following: * Provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model development program beginning at through + 45 days * Implementation of new/modified tooling and facilities based on product and process changes. * Lead manufacturing assembly builds (VP, TT, PP, MP1 and MP2) in Canada, Mexico & US assembly plants * Identify and drive resolution of manufacturing related issues * Interface with cross-functional (PD, STA, MP&L, NMP, etc) activities * Write/modify/maintain process sheets as required post * Lead assembly tooling installation, start-up, and commissioning at the assembly site. In addition, support tooling buy-off @ vendor facility. * Prepare and lead management presentations from post- through * Lead issue resolution and reporting for Water, End of Line (EOL), and Interior Ornamentation Tool (IOT) * Drive quality, cost, and labor improvement Skills Required: * CAD experience required * Strong computer skills (Excel, Power Point, etc.) * Strong verbal & written communication and presentation skills. * Ability to operate in stressful situations within timing constraints. * Ability to work with minimal direct supervision Skills Preferred: * Working knowledge of statistics (control charts, data collecting, etc.) * Knowledge in one or more of the following Ford software systems: AVBOM, WERS, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter, AIM, CPARS Experience Required: * Automotive Manufacturing Engineering experience required (2+ years) * Experience w/tooling, processes and facilities required (2+ years) Experience Preferred: * Experience in one or more of the following: Interior, Exterior, Chassis, Powertrain, Electrical, Water test, End of Line * Error proofing experience preferred Education Required: * Bachelor degree required Education Preferred: * Bachelor degree in engineering preferred Additional Information : * Extended travel to assembly plants in US, Canada, and/or Mexico required.
