As the Manufacturing Automation Engineer you will play a key role in building our cutting edge technologies. As part of the broader manufacturing team, you will work closely with our technicians to build world class tools for semiconductor manufacturers across the world.

About the Role

The role reports to the Automation Test Engineer and partners with our technicians to build advanced EUV technologies in a clean room environment. This position requires a hands on approach to problem solving and team work. The role requires close collaboration with the broader manufacturing team and the ability to accurately document work completed or to be completed.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

System Design and Development:

  • Assist in the design and development of automated control systems based on project requirements.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to create detailed specifications, schematics, and control logic.

  • Assist electrical, mechanical team members developing embedded modules that make their job easier

Instrumentation and Control Devices:

  • Specify and select appropriate instrumentation and control devices for automation projects.

  • Ensure compatibility and integration of sensors, actuators, and other control components.

  • Familiar with industry standard communication protocols like RS232, RS485, EtherCAT, Modbus etc.

Testing and Commissioning:

  • Conduct testing and commissioning activities for control systems to validate functionality and performance.

  • Collaborate with the testing team to identify and resolve issues.

Programming:

  • Develop small programs for instrument communication, data display, analysis etc. that will assist the internal team while building and maintaining the machines

  • Troubleshoot and debug code to ensure optimal system performance.

Documentation:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of control system designs, specifications, and programming changes.

  • Update project documentation as needed throughout the development and maintenance phases.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers.

  • Provide regular updates on project progress and escalate issues as necessary.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay informed about advancements in automation and control technologies.

  • Attend relevant training sessions and workshops to enhance skills.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3+ years' combined experience in engineering and automation controls

  • 1-3 years experience in control documentation and standard communications protocals

  • BS in Engineering or related discipline is required

  • Experience project managing complex, cross functional projects

  • Hardware engineering background with a passion for delivering high quality products

  • An independent worker and self-starter who acts on issues with little guidance

  • Excellent communication and cross-boundary collaboration skills.

  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills, and advanced problem-solving orientation and decision-making skills

  • Excellent documentation skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills

  • Eligibility to legally work in the United States

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Details

The base annual salary range for this full-time position is 90,000-100,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and EUV Tech's location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the respective role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors: job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
