Overview

M2 Technologies is looking for an experienced manufacturing designer with demonstrated skill in using the latest versions of Autodesk design tools. Autodesk Inventor & Vault experience preferred, AutoCAD Electrical, Mechanical, Fusion or HSM a plus. The Applications Engineer will be responsible for assisting clients with the successful implementation of design tools and best practices, providing training and technical support. Successful candidates will also be able to "talk the talk" and deliver compelling product demonstrations that articulate the value and benefits of technologies for customers and prospective clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support the success of the M2 sales team by providing technical presentations and educational sessions on industry trends

  • Perform in-depth assessments to investigate, uncover and understand a customer's business issues

  • Be able to demonstrate, map / integrate disparate technologies to solve design workflow inefficiencies

  • Identify and propose options for improvement or resolution of customer issues and relate those solutions directly to the customer's business goals / issues

  • Develop technical proposals for implementation of solutions in conjunction with Business Development & Consulting Services teams

  • Deliver engaging, professional live and online product demonstrations to customers

  • Provide Technical Support to help customers with technical issues

  • Deliver training classes at one of our Autodesk Training Centers (ATC) or at client sites

  • Provide a wide range of consulting services to support our clients delivery process

  • Provide feedback and recommendations post service delivery

  • Grow and maintain respected, long-term, trusted advisor relationships with customers and other members of the M2 team involved with the engagement

Required Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated and recent direct experience with the process, workflow and use of Autodesk design and analysis software for manufacturing

  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor & Vault

  • Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical, Mechanical, HMS or Fusion a plus

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks a plus

In this position you are expected to have a good understanding of engineering theory, basic concepts of design and an eagerness to develop a specific competency within the design environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Design Engineer (Electrical) * Using established procedures is responsible for analysis, design and development of basic electrical systems circuitry, library development, PDM entries, component engineering, documentation and verification plan execution. Design Engineer (Software) * Design, development, debug and test of software and/or firmware on hardware platforms that utilize one or more of the following: operating system (OS), real-time operating system (RTOS), or embedded code. Design Engineer (Mechanical) * Using established procedures is responsible for design and development of new Mechanical Design of simple components, assembly drawing developments, PDM entries and verification plan execution. * (Electrical & Mech) Familiar with the basic use of at least one CAD design tool. * (Electrical & Mech) At the appropriate process phase gates, will create and enter a complete design package data into our PDM system for ECO release. * (Software / Firmware) Competent in at least one high level programming language & compiler and familiar with the use of In-circuit emulators. * (ALL) Work with manager and/or PM to provide information that will aid in the initial quoting process. * Familiar with the use of lab equipment and tools for taking measurements and executing verification test plans. * Be responsible for directing the Technicians on their assigned projects. * Provide technical support for all manufacturing builds including engineering prototypes, NPI & production releases. * Be responsible for directing the Design Technicians on their assigned projects. * Stay abreast of the latest technology and techniques to provide designs that are competitive and cost effective. * May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
