Manual Machinist

Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Manual Bridgeport Machinist with 3-5 years of experience. In this position, you will help us create tools and other components using a variety of materials and equipment.

Including lathes, mills, drill presses, shapers, bandsaws, shear, punch presses, grinding machines, etc.

Manual Machinist Duties and Responsibilities

- Read blueprints to determine what equipment and materials are necessary for the job. Follow the blueprints to create the appropriate tools and components.

- Perform all assigned machine shop operations.

- Operate machine for milling, turning, drilling, tapping, grinding, cutting, and polishing materials.

- Finish projects using manual tools and precision instruments, including mics & calipers.

- Good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

- Performs inspections of machined products and documents results.

- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures.

Education requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Vocational certificate or completed industry apprenticeship.

Preferred Skills:

3-5 years of manual machining experience (BRIDGEPORT)

Must be able to follow established methods and procedures, must have good verbal and written communication skills; good organization skills; use of job-related micrometers; blueprint reading ability, and mechanical ability.
