Manual Machinist

Job Description Job Description Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist . The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining manual machine tools to fabricate parts for various industries.

This position requires attention to detail, precision, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate manual machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders, to produce precision parts.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machine settings and part dimensions. Select appropriate tools, materials, and machine settings for each job. Perform quality checks on parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure they meet specifications.

Monitor machines during operation to detect malfunctions or inaccuracies and adjust settings as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and guidelines. Troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on machines to keep them in good working order.

Communicate with team members, engineers, and supervisors regarding project progress and any issues. Keep accurate records of machine maintenance, inspections, and production output. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED (required); technical certification or trade school training is a plus.

Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a Manual Machinist or in a similar role. Proficiency in operating manual lathes, mills, and grinders. Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Skilled in using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.). Familiarity with machining software is a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and precision.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills:

Experience with CNC machines and basic CNC programming. Familiarity with metalworking techniques and finishes. Knowledge of various types of metal, including steel, aluminum, and titanium.
