Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to manage and maintain enterprise data storage systems and solutions to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This position will focus on the operational stability and maintenance of virtualized and physical infrastructure in customer and/or hosted data center environments.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks necessary to fulfill service level agreements with customers regarding storage allocations, limitations, security, and availability.

  • Communicates and enforces, through system procedures, data storage retention policies.

  • Follows change control, incident response, and testing processes for modifications to storage devices and software.

  • Anticipates, mitigates, identifies, responds to, and resolves issues with storage devices, storage access, and data retrieval.

  • Researches and makes recommendations on storage products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.

  • Monitors, analyzes, and predicts trends for storage equipment performance, space allocation, and data growth to recommend enhancements to the IT storage team.

  • Performs storage server/database transaction and security audits leading to identification and mitigation of security threats to enterprise data. Recommends and implements changes where necessary.

  • Creates required reports in response to business user needs.

  • Develops, documents, and maintains policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use

Basic Qualifications -

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field

  • At least three (3) years experience with SAN / NAS Storage solutions, to include one or more of the following

o EMC: VNX/VMAX/Isilon/XtremeIO,

o NetApp FAS/AFF (C-mode and 7-mode) and/or

o IBM DS5000, DS8000, SVC/v7000 (Storwize), FlashSystem, XIV

Other Position Requirements

  • Demonstrated Network backup (Netbackup, TSM, Commvault, etc) skills

  • Experience with FibreChannel SAN architecture/Design/Implementation

  • Demonstrated architecture, implementation, and migration experience with EMC, NetApp and/or IBM storage arrays

  • Experience with emerging technologies such as flash arrays and hybrid

  • Experience with Cisco and Brocade SAN switches as it relates to a SAN

  • Experience with hypervisors such as vSphere and/or Hyper-V

  • Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills

  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Storage Based Replication technology (Global Mirror/SRDF/SnapMirror/RecoverPoint, etc.)

  • Manufacturer certifications (IBM, NetApp, EMC, etc.)

  • Storage subsystem implementation experience on EMC and NetApp arrays

  • Unisphere, PowerPath, Solutions Enabler, Open Replicator / Migrator, AppSync and other EMC software experience

Essential Functions

The position exists to provide remote technical support and lifecycle consulting solutions to our Managed Services customers. To provide the required coverage, must be willing to work after hours.

ID: 129364 The Water Services Engineer Lead at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for working in a team environment with other disciplines to provide engineering for the design, operation, and troubleshooting of the UPW system, reclaim system, the wastewater treatment plant (IWTP), metal waste treatment systems, and drains from the Fab. Monitoring contaminant projections in conjunction with the site discharge permit and environmental regulations is required. In addition, the Water Services Engineer Lead supervises other engineers and coordinates the priorities of the area to engineers, technicians and equipment vendors. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Safety & Quality * Completes all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies * Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations/standards including PPE, CoHe (lockout /tagout) and chemical safety * Follows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with stakeholders * Actively participates in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems immediately (ERT, Supervision, etc.) * Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catches on safety issues * Proactively reduces potential incidents of personal injuries, safety hazards or environmental releases * Uses proper lifting techniques and works in an ergonomically correct manner * Follows proper change management practices to ensure safety and quality expectations are met * Drives quality improvement initiatives in their area to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and identifies cost savings * Operates and maintains equipment and tools within manufacturer's and company guidelines to ensure safety and quality expectations are met * Ensures area-specific procedures and documents exist and submits updates to content when needed Communication & Collaboration * Ensures appropriate wastewater equipment * Reviews all UPW and wastewater requirements during shutdown activities * Supports startup of new equipment and ensures all equipment will properly interface with other mechanical systems * Provides support for construction cost estimates and economic analysis of proposed projects including consumable budgets and projections * Applies standard engineering principles and utilizes predictive maintenance techniques to identify water system and drain issues * Establishes procedures and corrective actions to avoid reoccurrences of issues * Maintains and updates the site water mass balance, which includes water reuse rates * Specifies mechanical components for design * Reviews the city water bill for accuracy and trending, to forecast site city water and discharge flow requirements and costs * Applies standard engineering principles and practices * Utilizes administrative and engineering databases in support of job tracking, engineering data, capital equipment facilitation, and critical system loads and capacities * Performs research and development on emerging facilities technologies to support cutting-edge semiconductor processes * Incorporates safety controls in every aspect of the design, enhancement, and modification process Performance Management * Conducts regular performance management and professional development of direct reports through clear expectations and accountability * Ensures direct reports utilize the performance management tools, including maintaining documentation to capture feedback, plans, and progress to support performance rating * Ensures team members complete all assigned tasks before critical deadlines are passed by maintaining open dialogue and feedback * Defines organizational roles to meet the overall
