Position Overview and Responsibilities

FleishmanHillard, a leading global communications agency, has an immediate opening for an entrepreneurial, self-starting Managing Supervisor to join our growing healthcare/technology team. This is an exciting career opportunity for a PR professional with a passion for healthcare and technology-related public relations and communications to work closely with FH senior management and assist clients with their external public relations and communications activities. This individual will tackle a broad array of challenges including reputation management, advocacy relations, media relations, and marketing communications for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare technology and medical device companies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and edit compelling and high-quality client deliverables, including strategic communication plans research, media materials, website and social media content, client correspondence, and collateral.

  • Drive communications campaigns to healthcare and trade media; develop strong media and influencer relationships in this space.

  • Manage account team activities and help junior team members grow.

  • Manage many of the day-to-day activities for the healthcare practice's account teams, including working with senior members of the team to help manage budgets and forecasts, oversee projects and clients, and contribute to new business proposals.

Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare communications, with a deep background developing and executing public relations and corporate reputation programs, including corporate positioning, media relations and executive communications. Agency experience is a must and experience working in a healthcare, pharmaceutical company or association is highly desired.

  • Demonstrated experience working directly with clients on day-to-day activities, working alongside and managing teams to execute public relations plans effectively, and drafting and implementing strategic corporate communications programs within budget.

  • Superior creative writing skills, with experience translating complex science issues into consumer-friendly messages and materials, and the ability to develop and edit high-quality communications plans, position papers, fact sheets, news and online media materials, bylined articles, trend analysis summaries, executive correspondence, and presentations.

  • Ability to engage with and counsel senior level decision-makers across the client's business and deliver connective insights to assist clients in driving alignment and execution of cross-company initiatives. Candidate should have experience building relationships and working with diverse stakeholders effectively.

  • Candidate should have strong understanding of the media environment and established media contacts in top-tier and healthcare trades with the ability to create media strategy and drive coverage. A demonstrated hands-on media approach is required.

  • Ability to develop relationships with third-party organizations, physicians and caregivers, and to attend external meetings and events representing the agency and client (e.g. medical conferences, third-party events, etc.)

  • A strong understanding of digital communications and social media.

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, English, marketing, business or related field. Candidates who have previously worked as reporters, bloggers or editors, please apply.

CAREERS THAT CHANGE LIVES - POSITION DESCRIPTION: Lead regional education and training activities in support of Cardiac Rhythm Heart Failure-CRHF (primary responsibility) and Cardiac Vascular Group-CVG (secondary responsibility) new hire training and product launches. Serve as the customer and field technical resource in CRHF (primary) and CVG (secondary). Provide expertise and leadership in the areas of Fellows education, IBHRE certification, AHP education, clinical evidence interpretation, CVG champion programs. Provide clinic and implant coverage as dictated by needs of the region. Position reports to a Regional Service Manager. Each Region determines number of TFEs based on business needs, training demands and funding. Each region will have a minimum of one TFE. ______________________________________________________________________ A DAY IN THE LIFE - POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Field Education and Training * Drives regional education and training activities for sales and service staff around CRDM products and therapies, specifically: * New product launches * Leads new-hire training with accountability to hiring manager * IBHRE certification prep * CVG sales and service education and training (secondarily) as required by region and BU Champions programs * Expert in competitive technology and therapies. Disseminates competitive information to regional teams. Delivers competitive training to field service and sales staff. * Stays current with regard to publications and clinical evidence. Effectively and regularly disseminates information and training to field sales and service staff. Clinical Research Support * Partners with CRHF FCEs and Field Scientists, CRI FRCs, MSLs, TDSs and other BU clinical personnel to execute successful clinical research enrollments within region. * Conducts customer training on the use of Medtronic products and clinical protocols; coordinates field involvement in these processes and covers clinical research cases as needed. Field Technical & Sales Support * Assists and/or services as consultant to customers as well as sales and service staff with troubleshooting and programming challenges. * May be responsible for key customer relationships and serve as primary contact based on regional specific needs. * Serves as technical resource to customers and Medtronic personnel for complex problems. Provides technical explanation and demonstration of products to customers, particularly surrounding product launches. * Provides clinic and implant coverage (20% - 30% of total time) depending upon individual region demands. May be used to cover service for vacancies, leaves of absence and to train new hires. Sales and Service Solutions * Partners with DSSs and Regions Solutions Specialist to help deliver Medtronic Advantage Programs as requested and appropriate. * Attain a minimum of Lean Sigma Yellow Belt within 12 months (or as funding allows) and lead lean sigma efforts surrounding service efficiency across the region. * Partners with DSMs to successfully implement CareLink Express across region. Region Focus Areas Each TFE will have one or more focus items assigned to them depending on the region business demands. * Fellows Liaison * Partners with the CRHF Fellows Manager and field to communicate with and execute EP and Cardiology Fellows initiatives. Maintains relationships with EP Fellowship Directors. * Partners with CVG DMs, BUs and field to communicate and execute SH, Endovascular and Interventional Cardiology Fellows initiatives. * IBHRE * Designs and leads annual IBHRE prep course for CRDM field. * AHP Education Lead * Partners with Cardiology DMs and field to deliver region education initiatives for Allied Health Professionals. * CVG Champions Liaison * Achieves familiarity in one CVG business outside of CRDM and partners with CVG DM to assist in driving BU Champions efforts and product launches.
