Provides leadership and direction through senior managers. Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple regions or diverse job families or departments within a major region or business unit. Develops and executes business unit, department or sub-functional strategy to achieve key business objectives. Decisions are guided by company and segment/functional strategy and objectives. Directs and controls the activities of one or more functional areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Typically managing senior level managers and/ or individual contributors, develops, aligns and implements commodity strategies.

  • Negotiates and manages the maintenance of agreements with suppliers that provide the structure for all business relationships between Applied Materials and the supply base.

  • Engages with the PLC process to ensure alignment with the commodity strategies.

  • Directs new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements to/from the Applied Materials supply base.

  • Drives resolution to systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-time, which may include engagement with sub-tiers in the supply chain.

  • Develops and presents high level cost reduction opportunities.

  • Approves/final authority, delivers and manages Supplier Performance Improvement Plans.

  • Drives formal supplier performance reviews.

  • Demonstrates broad and comprehensive understanding of different systems, theories and practices as well as the changing business environment

  • Applies in-depth knowledge of own segment/function, business and commercial expertise to differentiate itself from the competition

Responsibilities include safety, quality, availability, technology, and sustainability roadmap alignment and performance of the supply chain in service of Intel's wafer fabrication technology development and high volume manufacturing operations.This role is expected to shape and prosecute integrated strategies to reduce the capital intensity and cost in this segment and drive business results by working closely with and influencing internal and external partners. Technology development and manufacturing supply chain expertise and extensive contracting and negotiation experience. Candidate must have demonstrated solid technical acumen in technology development and manufacturing and business acumen to look at the short term and long term affordability impacts. Need to have the ability to solve complex supply chain problems and thrive in fast paced, fluid environment with a sense of urgency. Must have demonstrated leading a high performing team and delivering excellent results through team leadership and personal ownership, often under extremely tight schedule. Qualifications Degree in Engineering and MBA preferred with 10-15 years of experience in supply chain management. Must have an executive presence in engaging with suppliers at the CEO level with constructive confrontation and collaboration. The job requires >35% domestic and international travel.
