As we grow, we are seeking an experienced Managing Director of Strategic Consulting in one of our Woolpert offices or telecommute.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to create, manage, and cultivate strategic consulting services in multiple markets

  • Manages and develops executive relationships

  • Manages government relations relevant to strategic initiatives by identifying key players in federal asset management initiatives

  • Develop and manage project plans to track status for each project or initiative

  • Identify, manage and mitigate risks at the program and project level

  • Develop communication plans for project and initiatives

  • Maintain internal project development documents, stakeholders contact lists and internal project task lists

  • Provides overall strategic leadership for a geography or business segment made up of multiple markets involved with designing and developing architecture, engineering, and geospatial solutions

  • Creates strategic vision and drives the development of operations and resource plans, goals, and priorities

  • Manages overall operational activities for the organization, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that strategic goals and budgets are met in accordance with organizational metrics and business plans

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • First level university degree required.

This position reports to the VP Finance, Corporate Controller with high visibility to the CFO. Long Description: The Consultant - Director, Worldwide Accounting will be responsible for both leading the global accounting function and continually improving the procedures, processes and systems to enable Qualys to meet operational, reporting and audit requirements as the company grows. This is a unique position offering greater breadth and career opportunity than traditional accounting roles. This position reports to the VP Finance, Corporate Controller with high visibility to the CFO. Responsibilities include: Accounting-focused: * Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close; * Oversee consolidation and worldwide compliance, including managing 3rdparty accounting service providers * Ensure the monthly and quarterly account reconciliations are performed in a timely and accurate manner; * Ensure quarterly SOX compliance activities are performed timely; * Own SEC filing documents and the earnings release process with respect to accounting; * Lead GL team in monthly balance sheet and P&L reviews that provide insight into key business drivers that are impacting financial results; * Provide technical and operational accounting guidance related to proposed transactions including acquisitions and potential vendor and customer agreements; Develop and document global business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls; * Respond to inquiries from finance and companywide managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests; * Work closely with internal and external audit functions to ensure compliance and plan for new accounting guidance; * Manage SEC, Technical Accounting, Payroll, Stock Administration, and GL accounting teams Process Improvement: * Partner with FP&A and VP, Tax & Treasury to improve system and processes for internal and external reporting * Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy; * Support Corporate Controller (and other departments as appropriate) on special projects and workflow process improvements; and * Other ad hoc responsibilities as necessary.
