Reporting to the Senior Managing Director - Mortgage and Real Estate, provides strategic and operational direction for the Commercial Mortgage Loan Servicing team to include specific oversight of the commercial records, administration and overall loan servicing functions in conformance with company and regulatory policy. Provides ongoing leadership and development to the operations staff in order to ensure that all duties are fulfilled.

Job Description

  • Leads all commercial mortgage loan servicing efforts for the company and ensures the servicing group is operating in alignment with the strategic direction and goals set forth for the team.

  • Leads and maintains a high-performing servicing team: select, develop, coach, reward, and recognize team members.

  • You must have a strong expertise of loan servicing regulations and related compliance requirements; stays ahead of industry and organization changes and integrates this knowledge at work activities.

  • Handles portfolio surveillance, monitor loan/property performance, evaluate credit quality and performance to identify risk and make recommendations to the supervisor to mitigate the risks.

  • Handles asset management including borrower requests requiring negotiating, structuring and recommending modifications. Works closely with the leading Director and Associate Portfolio Managers to negotiate restructured terms for distressed assets and/or handling the foreclosure of same.

  • Reviews and approves all exception conditions or non-routine actions and

  • Responsible for risk management of the portfolio and ensuring delinquency, default, foreclosures and bankruptcy performance for the organization meets or exceeds standards set for the portfolio by senior management.

  • Possesses, utilizes, and cultivates a strong working knowledge of all aspects of the mortgage loan documentation, administration and servicing related policies and procedures.

  • Watches the workflow of the servicing operation within the Commercial Mortgage and Real Estate Group streamlining processes and implementing procedures for efficiency and customer service delivery as appropriate.

  • Proficient in the use of on-line servicing and documentation systems as well as MS Office Products and provides mentorship to administrative and operational staff on an as needed basis.

  • Ensures that all daily, monthly, quarterly, annually, and year-end departmental duties are completed accurately and within the required timeframes both for internal team members and external partners and other ancillary vendors. Perform vendor due diligence and risk assessment as necessary.

  • Conducts regular and intensive training of department staff with a focus on product knowledge, customer service, and quality control.

  • Recommends operational guidelines to ensure department efficiency.

Required Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, real estate or Law Degree preferred. Ten (10) years of experience in a Loan Servicing or related environment, including five (5) years supervisory experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

  • Deep understanding of commercial loans including term loans, construction loans, documentary/standby letter of credit and consumer and real estate loan documentation.

  • Excellent managerial, communications, and public relations skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of loan servicing software systems.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of meaningful compliance requirements.

  • Ability to interact constructively with auditors, regulators and compliance consultants. Act as administrator of multiple correspondent relationships.

  • Knowledge of life company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Market Facing Activities and Business Development Employ horizontal branding and integration strategy within the line of business, shared services (finance, human resources, legal, marketing, etc.) and between all lines of business (Brokerage, Project Management, Valuation, DEF, etc.) to maximize performance of the company's platform. Evaluate industry and business trends and analyze financial performance indicators in local market area activity for potential impact on operations and respond with necessary business changes as indicated. Formulate, negotiate and execute contracts with the client and vendors, utilizing the internal expert resources, i.e. legal, risk, procurement, etc. Supports all property sales by overseeing due diligence process and monitoring the activity of outside brokers. Develop and maintain strong positive relationships and be highly regarded as an opinion leader and trusted advisor to ensure a high level of satisfaction. Human Capital Development and Sales Management Provide for the effective recruitment, selection, performance management and implement of a career development and succession plan, along with an effective retention program for key personnel, while creating a more diverse organization. Build and develop a strong core leadership team and ensure integration of all execution and sales functions. Business Management Collaborate with President, COO, EMD or SMD to develop a concise plan to accomplish the retention and target key markets/prospects for business growth opportunities and acquisition of clients/markets, focusing on our value-add as "expert advisors" rather than "tactical or transaction specialists". Effectively understand and oversee financial accounting, budgeting and reporting by identifying mid-year trends and reforecasting to meet the financial goals and expense management for assigned area. Execute best in class service delivery with respect to engineering, accounting, project management (Tenant Improvements), technical consulting (Infrastructure Management) security, life safety and disaster recovery. Ensure consistent service delivery and compliance with CBRE Global Standards and guidelines at all levels of the organization.
