ERM is seeking a hands-on Managing Consultant, Renewable Energy Project Manager in our Portland OR or Seattle WA, office to support the growth of our Capital Projects Delivery (CPD) service line. This role will lead environmental impact assessments and permitting for renewable energy and technology infrastructure facilities and other major capital development projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience permitting complex development projects in the power and/or technology sector along with technical expertise leading environmental, local, state-level, and Federal reviews for large-scale capital projects.

As part of ERM's planning team you will be leading consulting on a range of environmental and social impact assessment projects to build a sustainable business both regionally and nationally, while networking with ERM's global technical teams to share best practices across the industry.

Our portfolio of projects are often fast-paced, multi-faceted, and geographically diverse. The position will require a candidate to work both independently and with teams of subject matter experts, as such, a successful candidate must have the ability to manage varying priorities and multiple tasks while forging a cohesive delivery team to meet concurrent deadlines on multiple projects. RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct and monitor project management activities, including task delegation and direction, subcontractor management, health & safety protocol management, monitoring of commercial performance, deliverable quality review, and interaction with clients.

Manage preparation of discipline-specific reports, permitting documents, NEPA documents, and state-level environmental reviews consistent with applicable regulatory requirements. Manage and perform complex permitting and compliance associated with renewable energy and tech sector development projects with an emphasis on local, state, and federal permitting and compliance processes, including but not limited to SEPA, EFSEC/EFSC, NEPA, and state and federal water and biological resource regulations. Serve in roles ranging from project manager, task manager, technical expert, and QA/QC of deliverables.

Manage and work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments. Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads. Maintain client relationships that generate repeat business.

Collaborate with other ERM CPD practitioners from multiple offices around the organization to execute impact assessment projects. Mentor junior and mid-level consulting staff to develop their skill sets in the CPD service area. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor and/or Master degree in environmental science/engineering, biology/ecology, planning, or similar field. 4 years of impact assessment and environmental permitting experience.

Demonstrated leadership ability to build, coach, and mentor collaborative teams. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Solid experience building and sustaining relationships with clients.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports and standards. Strong presentation skills for client meetings and other events. Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.

Travel up to 5% Preferred But Not Required: 5 years of impact assessment and environmental permitting experience within the energy sector. Certification (e.g., PWS, WPIT, CWB). Demonstrated technical skills in wildlife and/or ecological surveys (e.g., wildlife surveys, wetland delineations) desired. Positive reputation with key regulatory agencies associated with project development in the Pacific Northwest region.

Knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting and compliance processes, including but not limited to SEPA, EFSEC/EFSC, NEPA, and state and federal water and biological resource regulations. For the Managing Consultant, Renewable Energy Project Manager position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $84,007 - $101,500 USD. An employee's pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above. This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
