Summary

This unique Finance Manager position will report directly to Alison Dean our CFO. You will be focused on providing strategic financial analysis to the CFO and executive team in support of new global business opportunities and other cross functional/corporate initiatives. You will be an essential team member impacting the future global growth of iRobot.

Essential Functions/ Job Duties

  • Serve as primary lead on the financial evaluation of new business opportunities including M&A and partnerships.

  • Perform financial modeling and financial statement impact analysis for new business initiatives, identifying synergies, dis-synergies, flagging potential accounting issues/considerations. Partner with internal leaders including but not limited to tax, FP&A, treasury, accounting, corporate. development, and other relevant functional leaders to support development and analysis of opportunity.

  • Ensure detailed documentation of business plans and associated assumptions against which actual performance can be measured. Key participant in M&A post mortem assessment.

  • Partner with internal and external parties including financial institutions, service providers and senior executives as necessary to properly assess new business opportunities.

  • Play a prominent role in deal analysis and structure. Review of purchase and sale agreements and other transaction agreements with an eye towards items that will have a financial statement impact. Review of acquired contracts to understand implications to deal assumptions.

  • Lead finance due diligence activities coordinating with specific departments within Finance for complete coverage.

  • Perform valuation analysis for iRobot based upon Long Term Financial Model using various valuation tools.

  • Provide data-driven, in-depth financial analyses for decision-making across our company.

  • Analyze competitors' financial statements and disclosures to understand impact of relevant financial/business topics.

  • Development and reporting on critical KPIs for measuring company performance.

  • Providing a robust analysis of sell side analyst financials models, drawing insights for further investor communication.

  • Drive, lead and execute analysis for organic strategic initiatives/investments and other ad-hoc projects across the company.

  • Develop methodology for performing product portfolio financial analysis.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years finance/accounting experience is required in corporate finance, financial operations roles; with in-depth knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate strategy a strong plus.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics required; MBA preferred

  • Strong financial modeling capability coupled with accounting background

  • Experience presenting business opportunities to a broad range of stakeholders, including executive staff.

  • Adaptable and collaborative working style. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling concurrent projects while ensuring high quality and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present concepts and strategies to various internal and external audiences.

  • Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Self-motivated problem solver

  • Strong leadership with the ability to manage matrix cross-functional teams.

VIEW JOBS 10/27/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-25T00:00 Overview The Senior Manager for the Revenue Accounting Group, reporting to the Director for the Revenue Accounting Group, will manage all corporate revenue recognition accounting processes including management of the Revenue Accounting team. The Senior Manager will ensure all revenue agreements are accounted for appropriately with the applicable external revenue recognition guidance and internal company standards and policies. This would also include managing the journal entry process to account for any non-standard deals' associated adjustments. Responsibilities * Review bookings against revenue systems to ensure proper revenue is earned and scheduled * Work with cross-functional groups to better understand non-standard deals, miscellaneous performance obligations, and the related revenue impact * Manage the revenue accounting team * Review and post all revenue-related journal entries * Review and approve revenue and deferred revenue account reconciliations * Monitor month-end deliverables ensuring timely completion (including, but not limited to, Bookings Reports, Flux analytics, management reporting, etc.) * Assist in the external audit for revenue related activities, this includes all internal and external work for Sarbanes-Oxley * Document and further develop best practices related to newly-adopted ASC606 accounting and reporting Qualifications * Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance * 8+ years of finance experience, preferably in the software sector * Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a revenue recognition role * Minimum of 5 years managing direct reports * Superior analytical and time management skills * Strong organizational skills and experience related to cross-functional processes * Attention to detail and ability to present data in a comprehensive and articulate manner * Outstanding communication skills and a personal style that will facilitate open dialogue and engagement with both external and internal constituencies is a requirement.
