About ECU Health Wellness Centers

ECU Health Wellness Centers are medical fitness facilities designed to empower members to achieve optimal health. Each of the three locations-Greenville, Washington and Ahoskie-offer a broad range of exercise, aquatic and wellness services for all ages and fitness levels, including personal training, group fitness classes, Exercise is Medicine programs, massage therapy, nutrition counseling and more.

Position Summary

Leadership accountability for Wellness Center operations, financial and service performance. Develop and manage the team to provide exceptional customer service, sales and retention in addition to effective exercise and wellness programs.

Maintain the facility, equipment and pool. Manage resources effectively, efficiently and productively. Contribute to strategic and financial plan development and be accountable to lead, monitor and report on progress towards achievement of goals within a financially sustainable model.

Lead new strategies and process improvements. Build and maintain collaborations to support system strategies for wellness and population health.

Responsibilities

Assist Director in strategic direction and planning, capital and operating budget development, and establishing statistical targets for the assigned wellness center(s). Manage performance and be accountable for monitoring and achieving department goals, budget and strategies. Develop strategies, project plans and infrastructure that enable Department to achieve results that align with established goals. Measure, monitor and provide required reports on key performance indicators and adjust strategies for optimal outcomes.

Manage Center operations such as customer service, staff, process/workflows, protocols, equipment, and vendors, general operations of the facility and pool. Work in collaboration with landlord and facility services on facility and equipment upkeep, renovation projects, grounds and housekeeping.

Lead a customer focused culture. Develop, promote and implement a variety of high-quality programs and services to drive customer/member sales, satisfaction, outcomes and retention within a financially sustainable model.

Participate in the delivery of programs and perform direct care with patients and members as needed to achieve goals. Model and lead team members in provision of exceptional customer experiences and effective service recovery. Participate in system wellness population health strategies in and out of the wellness center.

Manage team members. Responsible for the selection and onboarding of team members in collaboration with Talent acquisition/HR.

Manage the engagement and development of staff, inclusive of performance management, technical, and professional development and communications. Train, schedule and assign team members for given projects, tasks or shifts. Supervise, monitor productivity, performance and provide coaching and support to promote team member and organization success.

Collaborate with HR on performance matters that require corrective action. Collaborate across Centers, Wellness division, and others as appropriate on staff development, cross training and staff sharing to optimize resources with high productivity to volume.

Facilitate change to advance the organization and uses resources and operational practices to drive execution of plans. Accountable for a positive organizational culture in decision making, communication, collaboration and performance management to influence work attitudes and enhance job satisfaction.

Matrix with local leadership to assure inclusion and engagement in both system and local organizational priorities. Matrix and collaborate with other Wellness Centers to assure consistency, franchise approach, and to leverage and share best practices for the betterment of our Wellness Centers brand and service.

Minimum Requirements

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Bachelor's Degree or higher in exercise science, physiology, fitness, sports management, business, health education, or related.

5(+) years related experience in exercise/fitness industry, including minimum of 3 years leadership experience.
