The Manager of Design Operations provides creative design translation and production support for the store design and visual creative innovations teams across all brands; specifically, supporting new real estate, innovation and flagship stores projects. This will be accomplished through leadership of the following:
Translation of creative concepts into specific prints and prop elements that live in the store environment. Lead graphic designers to deliver concepts that demonstrate an understanding of visual props, merchandising needs, prop/dcor design and 2D vs 3D concept translation.
2D translation includes paper mock-ups, scale & print materials studies. 3D examples include pop-up fixtures, prop mock-ups and table top displays.
Create and manage mechanicals for all brand-specific art, including wall covering, fabric prints, graphics, special project marketing, photography and signage; coordinate production with sourcing team and vendors as needed.
Lead the planning, implementation and ongoing review of translation and design processes for store design and visual creative teams.
Partner closely with the store design and visual creative teams and the production team to maintain end-to-end consistency throughout lifecycle of each project. Installs mock-ups, prototypes and learning tools.
Manage a pool of designers to support project workflow from development and sampling through in-store delivery and installation.
Lead environmental graphic design team with strong knowledge of retail design and visual narrative.
Manages a team of associates and temporary contract labor as needed on a project by project basis.
Hosts weekly design status meeting to update progress and re-prioritize project workload.
Responsible for improving processes, driving change and increasing the efficiency of the organization on a daily basis.
Responsible for leading the integration of the operations processes that cross all functions and brands.
Support designers through interior renderings (2D and 3D) during concept and planning stages.
Demonstrated knowledge of graphic design, environmental design, marketing and prop design in a retail environment

Demonstrated proficiency in both strategic thinking and tactical planning with proven ability to implement systems and processes across a large organization and across multiple departments

Able to travel weekly to NYC; and, to store project sites as needed
Accomplished manager with management experience in marketing/creative operations arena. Proficient understanding of marketing / visual / creative function and interdisciplinary processes to include production and installation in retail store environment, within a fast-paced retail environment or within a similar industry.
3+ years' experience leading and developing staff
Bachelor's degree in design preferred
