    Cox Communications is searching for a Manager of Video Control Systems Operations. This role provides leadership and direction for development support of current and future video control system platforms related to customer-facing video technologies. The position is responsible for production video quality and performance. In addition, provides direction and prioritization to development teams for resolution of defects and improvements identified and required on production platforms. The role is purposed to provide Tier 3 video support for field and product operations with the focus to ensure highly reliable applications and exceptional video quality for our customers on IP and QAM video platforms. Establishes and implements technical and operating performance standards, analysis, measurement, and adjustment of downstream linear video. Utilizes strong interpersonal skills that allow for developing exceptional relationships with various businesses, technical, and operational departments.

  • Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions*

  • Provide functional leadership and execution of technology solutions and support ensuring achievement of the companys business objectives

  • Identifies, proposes, and influences business solutions, negotiates deliverables and requirements across multiple business customers or organizations

  • Ability to drive process and procedure standardization across a national organization

  • Responsible for national organization with teams located across various regions of the country

  • Possesses a strong focus on technical operations and driving efficiencies in people and process

  • Provides leadership and mentoring to team members and peers

  • Anticipates industry trends and relates those changes to current and future needs and projects

  • Partner with other functional groups to develop, manage, track, and analyze operational support structures, tools, methods and procedures and processes to gain maximum effectiveness, efficiency, and a quality customer experience

  • Ensure that production issues are prioritized, communicated appropriately and planned for resolution in future software releases or patches

  • Work closely with technology teams and management in order to fully understand business priorities of the function and the corporation as a whole

  • Establish functional strategic goals for improving operations, products, and services

  • Initiate and direct activity aligned with achieving people and process improvement

  • Ensure team alignment and focus on achieving and exceeding company goals

  • Analyze and manages capital and expense budgets

  • Oversee and lead contract negotiations and vendor management

  • Consult with business leaders to define key performance indicators and service levels, create a process framework, and initiate and direct improvement activities
    Qualifications:Minimum
  • 5+ years of experience required in related field (Technology Leadership, Customer-Facing Video Technologies or Application Development)

  • Manage relationships between business, development, and relevant technology departments

  • Strong focus on delivering a quality customer experience

  • Requires IPTV knowledge and experience supporting in a production environment

  • Ability to manage multiple vendor relationships and drive synergies between innovative product offerings

  • Responsible for managing an annual budget for team projects

  • Ability to manage and develop teams that are geographically dispersed

  • Willing to travel to remote team facilities and corporate office

  • Preferred*

  • BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly preferred (computer science, engineering or related field)

  • Masters Degree in related discipline (computer science, engineering or related field)

  • 3+ years of experience in a management role preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in a management role or leading cross functional projects preferred

  • Experience in telecommunications industry desired

  • Experience with conditional access and digital rights management systems
