Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks a Manager, Valuation Review Group in New York, New York

Responsible for mark review, execution, coordination, and delivery across multiple fixed income portfolios. Collect market data, perform research, and obtain comparable pricing information.

Conduct assessments of models used for valuations of derivatives and other financial instruments. Manage interest rate derivatives valuations and consolidate valuation results. Collaborate with traders and risk management to resolve pricing disparities, substantiate significant mark ups/downs, and report valuation results to senior management. Enhance existing control framework through independent pricing processes review, potential coverage development assessment, and implementation of new tools to control efficiency in partnership with technology.

Requirements:

Requires a Master's in Mathematical Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline and four (4) years of experience in the position offered or four (4) years of experience as Analyst, Associate, or related financial occupation. Requires four (4) years of experience with: FAS 157 compliance evaluation; production and policy review; rates products; vanilla products; structured products; modeling skills; fair value accounting policies; valuation methodologies; valuation controls; identification and resolution of valuation discrepancies; deriving market-based prices for interest rate derivatives and products; Excel VBA programming language; and interacting with head traders, strategists, and senior finance management.

VIEW JOBS 4/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-16T00:00 Overview As very much an integral part of the Sotheby's Wine department you will work as part of a centralized valuation team providing global 24 hr pricing and valuation support to the international Sotheby's Wine team. In addition to you core responsibilities, your role within the Sotheby's Wine team will also require flexibility to support other Sotheby's Wine activities including (but not limited to) inspection, packing, cataloguing and receipting. Responsibilities * Manage the traffic of incoming client wine and/or spirit lists * Prioritise lists based on sale deadline, client profile and value * Provide auction estimates for items listed * Provide consistency in pricing across all sale locations * Communicate clearly with auction team on turn-around times, estimate needs, client profile * Work with counterparts in Hong Kong and London to provide consistent and sustained 24 pricing support utilizing live, online resources * Support auction team with valuations * Provide pricing support to the Sotheby's Wine retail business as required * To ensure more accurate valuation, maintain proper data information such as LWIN and reviewer scores * Maintain Sotheby's Wine Indices by releasing auction results to a partner company and reviewing the output on regular basis Other * Participate in departmental, regional and global projects as required * Provide support to other parts of the Auction and Retail wine business as and when required Qualifications * Commitment to Client Service * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and a commitment to an exemplary level of client service * Be able to demonstrate the capacity to take on multiple projects at once and multi-task * Be self-motivated with a proactive approach and enthusiasm to learn * Be a team player with a co-operative attitude and a willingness to take on a wide variety of tasks * Be able to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines * Flexible and receptive to change * Microsoft Office especially Excel * Wine knowledge/valuation experience with a minimum of WSET level 2 * Spirits knowledge/valuation experience a plus * SAP Wine Master Database experience a plus Sotheby's New York NY
