Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of U.S. Finance ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed /delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

As part of a dedicated U.S. regulatory capital team, contribute to establishing a U.S. specific approach, calculation and reporting across all products to calculate Risk-weighted assets ("RWAs"), leverage ratio, and other capital metrics. This entails developing readiness to meet capital and reporting requirements for Intermediate Holding Company ("IHC") including linkage to FR 2052a Complex Institution Liquidity Monitoring Report.

Calculate expected capital contributions from parent to fully fund an Intermediate Holding Company; Implement governance and processes around capital planning that is supported by entity and management reporting.

Lead efforts in planning, forecasting, and optimization of capital with the primary objective of improving Return on Equity metrics for U.S. Evaluate a variety of economic scenarios across the capital continuum, ranging from business as usual to stress environments, including recovery and resolution. Forecast capital capacity and ratios, such as RWA, improve the systems and processes used to perform these activities, coordinate associated regulatory submissions and legal entity forecast of capital/RWA across entities and business lines.

Establish relationships with business partners in providing perspective on capital and finance matters pertaining to business activities. Maintain an in-depth level of knowledge of each business lines' capital usage and forecasts. Partner with Business on optimization efforts and helping identify opportunities or provide insights to help the Business in their decisioning process. Provide input to new product development and the integrity of capital allocation for existing financial reporting.

Ensure that information and data quality standards are maintained in compliance with the enterprise technology and data management standards for accurate, complete, and timely regulatory information. Develop and maintain strong regulatory reporting, information quality, and MIS disciplines.

What You'll Do

  • Undertake on-going analysis of the CUSO balance sheet to review and proactively seek out new strategies to reduce RWA. Providing responses and recommendations to questions / issues raised by senior executive management and regulators as needed.

  • Assist in developing, analyzing, and streamlining existing RWA reporting and capital ratios including RWA optimization initiatives proposed by U.S. GRM and U.S. Finance.

  • Implement and manage the U.S. capital forecasting processes including developing new tools.

  • Maintain policies, procedures, and processes to improve the quality, integrity, relevance, security and ownership of U.S. capital and regulatory information.

  • Collaborate with Enterprise level capital team colleagues to leverage best practices and perform an ongoing gap assessment across the countries.

  • Function as the Bank's subject matter expert on regulatory capital methodology and be responsible for proposing new methods and leading the change process, collaborating with teams in U.S. Finance, U.S. GRM, and the business lines.

  • Contribute to providing value added strategic analysis and insights to business partners.

  • Assist in developing ongoing innovation in building new management and variance reports that will lead to faster analysis during extremely tight external deadlines.

  • Maintain a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Accounting, Mathematics, or Business with certification (CPA / CA / CFA / FRM) preferred. Strong knowledge of U.S. Regulatory Capital.

  • At least 8-10 years of verifiable progressive experience in finance. Capital planning, reporting or management and experience with capital standard setting and internal controls a plus.

  • Knowledge and understanding of data quality and standards.

  • Experience in credit / market / liquidity risk management preferred.

  • The role requires advanced knowledge of enterprise and capital and regulatory reporting for foreign banking organizations, including an awareness of emerging regulatory requirements and industry trends impacting capital requirements.

Skills

  • This position is highly strategic and complex requiring a results-oriented individual who has a high degree of understanding of banking business knowledge of U.S. capital rules and RWA, balanced by an intrinsic understanding of the business lines. Must be able to engender trust and confidence across the U.S region based upon an ability to deliver services on target, on time, and on budget.

  • Strong knowledge of Corporate and Investment Banking products, including loans, SFTs, Securitization and off-balance instruments. This includes understanding the difference between standardized and advanced RWA approaches.

  • Excellent Excel and/or PowerBI / SQL skills.

  • Excellent people skills are required to influence teamwork and to deliver results under tight deadlines and multiple priorities.

  • Effective listener and a strong communicator are necessary for this role. Advanced written and verbal communications skills are essential to effectively drive change management across culturally diverse workforce.
