The Manager Trainee Program is the fast track into Menards Management. The program is very structured and well defined to help prepare you for a career in retail management.

You will become accustomed to basic store procedures, common policies and terminology. The program is a comprehensive 3-month on-the-job training program, which can be done at any one of our store locations. During the program you will rotate through four training areas within the store, gaining knowledge and exposure, which will help develop your management techniques.

Upon successful completion of the four training areas of the program, combined with a willingness to relocate, your first promotion will be to Assistant Department Manager. At this level, you are gaining management experience, and with your commitment to success it will lead to increased responsibility and career advancement!

Position Locations:
14 Midwestern States: IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OH, SD, WI and WY. Also, we have stores in the following metropolitan markets: Minneapolis / St. Paul, Milwaukee, Chicago, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Toledo, Detroit, Omaha, Des Moines, Cincinnati, Columbus, OH, Kansas City, MO and more moving forward.


Bachelors Degree in a Business related field is preferred, but not required.

The position holder will work at the Yankton terminal but may also be required to provide vacation relief coverage for other terminal operators at Yankton. The successful candidate will be expected to live in the immediate Yankton area. The position is an hourly position that works rotating 12 hour shifts 24/7/365 (days, evenings, nights and holidays). * The position may involve travel for regular duties, meetings, training and vacation relief coverage. There may be occasional overnight stays away from home. * The position will involve working outside in the elements. * The position requires the successful candidate to work with hazardous materials including gasoline, which contains benzene, highly volatile liquids, such as propane and with fuel oils and petroleum additives. * The position is subject to both pre-employment and random DOT drug testing. Duties will include: * Routine terminal operations * Operating main line pumping units * Operating the de-propanizer * Filling and emptying storage tanks and additive tank * Performing quality assurance testing, providing customer assistance and training * Light housekeeping and grounds maintenance and * Other tasks as assigned by Management.Requirements: * A high school diploma or GED is required. * A minimum of one year of experience in terminal/pipeline operations is desired.
