Position Title: Manager Network Operations (Tower) - 7E

Position Summary

The Manager Network Operations (Tower) is responsible for the continuous operation of our tower assets. This includes mitigating risks associated with structural deficiencies, extreme weather events, regulatory (local, state, and federal) infractions, and contractual obligations, among others. To accomplish this, the manager leads a team of direct and indirect reports in the continuous (24/7) monitoring of our tower assets. Additionally, the manager acts as a central point-of-contact for our field teams and other cross-functional groups (Legal, Regulatory, Risk, Engineering, etc.), providing support and incorporating relevant feedback to ensure the various needs of the business are accommodated and efficiently executed. The manager creates or often advises on tower operations standards and procedures and is expected to champion the growth and progression of our field practices. The manager is responsible for accurate reporting and record-keeping as it relates to critical data points as established by regulations and/or contracts.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead and coach a team, maximize the effectiveness of individuals in their current roles and drive continuous development, foster a culture and atmosphere of open communication and collaboration consistent with company values

  • Responsible for staffing decisions, including, but not limited to, hiring, goal-setting, performance reviews, termination, rewards determinations, training/development, and scheduling; ensure those decisions are objective and aligned in approach with peers in the organization

  • Identify and set strategic goals to maximize the output of the team and corresponding value to the business

  • Understand the financial performance indicators of the company and how the team impacts those metrics, act to positively influence and advance those impacts

  • Seek and implement solutions (innovations, processes, products, services, etc.) in response to opportunities, trends, or systemic issues

  • Establish and maintain cross-functional partnerships and networks, proactively communicate stated goals and progression to ensure alignment of efforts towards common objectives

  • Collaboratechallenge directly and exhibit a willingness to be challengedcross-functionally and across all levels of the company

  • Leverage influence to prepare and position teams to absorb change with minimal disruption

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure our tower portfolio is being well-managed, remains in compliance with all applicable contracts and regulations, and void of any unanticipated risks (structural, legal, regulatory, etc.)

  • Participate in tower portfolio integration activities and act as the central point-of-contact for tower operations considerations

  • Manage the execution of national acquisition agreements as it relates to federal and contractual obligations

  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and execution of tower incident response and natural disaster response plans

  • Keep the Director of Tower Operations and senior leaders informed of escalated issuesincluding, but not limited to, incidents, disasters, personnel, compliance/regulatory, etc.and overall risk facing the portfolio

  • Participate in and often the lead the development of tower operations standards, policies, and procedures

  • Monitor integral maintenance and inspection systems; ensure work is being executed in accordance with applicable Crown Castle standards

  • Oversee national accounts to ensure bills are in alignment and paid accordingly


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • Seven (7) years prior tower operations, network operations center, broadcast center, military electronics and/or relevant experience

  • Previous experience in managing direct reports

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of tower field activities; including installation, maintenance, and construction practices and procedures

  • Ability to maintain confidential information and communications

  • Ability to write, review, and approve technical documents detailing standards, procedures and policies

  • Exposure to network monitoring systems

  • Proficient in developing and analyzing statistical trending models and reports

  • Ability to identify, build, and implement business plans

  • Proficient in project conception and management

  • Adept at networking and cross-functional relationship building

Working Conditions: Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Ability to travel nationwide. Minimal travel expected, may be 10% or more of the time.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: * Works with patients, insurance carriers, or other areas of the billing department to resolve billing inquiries received via phone, mail and E-Mail communications. * Responsible for maintaining individual and departmental goals including: Call Quality, Average Call Handle Time, Service Level, Average Speed of Answer, Abandonment rate, etc * Provide feedback to management on identified issues and assist with resolution of any items or trends that negatively impact patient experience.. * Maintain confidentiality of patient diagnostic and treatment information with focus on HIPAA guidelines and strong customer service skills. * Demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of external and internal customers in regard to: changes in work volume, planned changes, scheduling changes, etc. Working Conditions * Non-Center Based.
