Requisition 11887: Manager TOP & Unit Planning
Oversees implementation of performance metrics, incorporating statistical quality control procedures to monitor performance against customer commitments and budgeted operating expenses in order to maintain corporate profitability and customer service goals without continuing daily intervention.
Works with modelers, marketing, and other planning managers to evaluate schedule changes within the operating plan.
Reviews new and existing movements for opportunities to fully optimize current network operations and assets within the scope of the train plan.
Uses knowledge of logistic supply chain methods to effectively develop measurement metrics to monitor Service Agreement performance for merchandise and unit commodities.
Works with Marketing representatives, ops planning and Customer Operations to make design train service recommendations to modelers in order to meet customer needs.
Communicates plan changes, degree of impact, and defends Network Planning & Optimization's train plan decisions to Marketing.
Works with Marketing to conduct traffic profitability analysis and coordination of projects designed to develop new markets and to
improve profitability in existing markets/lanes.
Develops and maintains mechanized reports provided by modelers/train plan.
Distributes reports and information from modelers/train plan to marketing personnel to promote an understanding of performance levels and where there are deficiencies.
Coordinates monthly meetings with commercial planning teams and Marketing teams to ensure forecast model accuracy and changes to market share.
Reviews historical accuracy to determine forecast model changes and explain results.
