Blue Origin is developing the next generation launch and space vehicle manufacturing facility on Florida's Space Coast at our Orbital Launch Site Manufacturing Complex. We are in search of a Manager of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Tooling Operations who will manage a group or engineers and technicians working with a production team to ensure the smooth operation of production tooling used for launch vehicle manufacturing and testing. The Manager will coordinate the needs of the production floor with a design and engineering team to ensure that any tooling modifications, repair or maintenance are preformed to minimize downtime and impacts to launch vehicle production and operations. The position will interface directly with vehicle production, launch systems, and other test and operational groups. The role requires strong emphasis with hands-on technical ability with direct involvement on equipment operation, trouble-shooting, and active engagement with engineering and maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities:
Management of the floor tooling support:
Strong communication skills
Organize and coordinate schedules
Be in tune with on the floor production status and tooling needs
Prioritize work related to tooling deficiencies, concerns, and opportunities
Permanent problem resolution focused
Design Engineering Support:
Understand and apply design, performance, and fabrication specifications, acceptance test procedures, and maintenance plans for tooling
Coordinate with engineering and production control to ensure operational requirements are accurately captured in work orders
Support maintenance and calibration activities
Support preventative maintenance planning
Fabrication support
Support tool checkout and commissioning both onsite and at vendor locations
Manage a team of engineers and specialists to:
Act as liaison to design team to support emergent tooling needs and modifications to existing tooling
Define tooling requirements
Define tooling con-ops
Participate in design reviews
Review tool use instructions
Create tooling request tickets
Coordinate tooling issues with GSE design team
Participate in Production Readiness Reviews (PRR's)
Windchill Support:
Identify gaps in Windchill tooling documentation and coordinate solution
Review and sign off Change Notices (CN's)
Qualifications:
Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
Minimum of a bachelor's college degree in Business Management or Engineering such as mechanical, aerospace, electrical, structural, industrial, or manufacturing engineering; or other major requiring engineering or manufacturing core courses
10+ years' experience with mechanical systems (mechanisms, power transmission components, hydraulics, fluids systems, etc.), electrical systems/components, control systems, support frames/structures, and/or lifting fixtures.
5+ Years managing teams in a dynamic environment
Experience coordinating and prioritizing work
Familiarity manipulating models and reading drawings/schematics
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Desired:
Open and navigate model and drawings in PTC Creo
interpret drawings
Create concepts for presentation purposes utilizing PTC Creo, AutoCAD, PowerPoint, and hand sketch
Experience with CAD modeling and drawings in PTC Creo
Experience with revision control and data configuration in Windchill
Experience authoring and executing maintenance work orders
Experience working on aerospace development programs, production lines, or field operations in both design and hands-on roles
Experience on commercial development programs a plus
Extremely customer focused with strong communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances
Hands on fabrication, assembly, or maintenance experience
