Job Summary:

The Manager of Therapy Services will serve as the manager and clinical expert for IP Rehabilitation by being responsible for staffing needs, prepare and manage operational and capital budgets, clinical standards of practice, staff competencies, conduct performance appraisals of department staff, discipline specific expert knowledge, continuing education for the profession and participation in hiring and coaching / evaluation of departmental associates. Provide services to patients/clients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. Restores function, provide prevention education, promote health, wellness and fitness, alleviate pain and prevent/ minimize disability

MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY

Directs, mentors, counsels and develops staff

Develops leadership skills

Completes Assigned Performance Development Plans (PDPs)

Assures adequate staffing department to meet regulatory requirements & productivity standards

Identifies & resolves daily operational issues

Completes/Assists with the development of operational budgets

Controls expenses and works towards financial targets

Embraces and implements new processes and techniques

Markets programs and develops referrals as assigned

CLINICAL SKILLS

Delivers quality care

Pursues and provides educational opportunities

Shares knowledge with others

Uses a wide variety of techniques & technologies

DOCUMENTATION

Uses objective measurements appropriate to substantiate care

Completes documentation on the date of service

Interventions selected match treatment delivered & meet regulatory standards (IE 3 hr. rule)

Documentation substantiates charges selected

Documentation meets clinical policy & procedure guidelines (frequency, timeliness-weekly/monthly notes & discharge instructions)

Reviews staff documentation for compliance with policies and procedures.

Efficiently & effectively schedules patients

Demonstrates flexibility to help others (IE provide coverage @ other sites, adjust work schedule to meet needs, assist others to cover patients)

By understanding and adhering to current standards of, guide for professional conduct including the code of ethics and practice guidelines established by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. By providing appropriate supervision to assistants, therapy aides and students.

Minimum Education Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited college or university of physical therapy with a bachelor's, certificate, master's or DPT degree in physical therapy.

Minimum Experience Requirements:
Inpatient rehabilitation experience minimum of 5 years strongly preferred.

License/Certifications: Current licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice physical therapy in the state of Pennsylvania.

VIEW JOBS 9/20/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-12-19T00:00 Department GSPP - OP ARCADIA PT Account 2 Schedule Per Diem Shift Day / Evening Hours Hours will vary Job Details A.S. - Associates of Science PTA - Physical Therapist Assistant 1 year preferred Job Summary: * Assist physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures. * Assist in the development of treatment plans, carry out routine functions, document the progress of treatment, and modify specific treatments in accordance with patient status and within the scope of treatment plans established by a physical therapist. * Carries out the treatment plan as instructed by the physical therapist using a variety of modalities including those associated with electrotherapy, heat, cold, hydrotherapy and exercise. * Maintains documentation including patient progress notes and worklists. * Prepares necessary patient records and statistics, appropriate patient information for weekend staff and when planning to be absent. * Provides information and instruction to patients, families, caregivers and other health practitioners. Makes recommendations regarding appropriate assistive devices. Communicates recommendations regarding orthotic and prosthetic devices to the physical therapist. * Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients as they practice exercises and functional activities. * Confer with physical therapy staff or others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment. * Observe patients during treatments to compile and evaluate data on patients' responses and progress, and report to physical therapist. * Measure patients' range-of-joint motion, body parts, and vital signs to determine effects of treatments or for patient evaluations. * Secure patients into or onto therapy equipment. * Fit patients for orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches. * Train patients in the use of orthopedic braces, prostheses, or supportive devices. * Transport patients to and from treatment areas, lifting and transferring them according to positioning requirements. * Monitor operation of equipment and record use of equipment and administration of treatment. * Supervise, train and assess therapy assistant students during onsite clinical affiliations. Minimum Certifications, Registry and/or Licenses Required: CPR Certification, Pennsylvania and New Jersey Physical Therapist Assistant licensure or eligible. Degree Requirements and Minimum Experience Required: Associates degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from a CAPTE accredited school for physical therapist assistant. * Important Note: Good Shepherd is a drug and tobacco free work environment.
