Position Summary
Is this position exempt from overtime pay?
Yes
Manages the AACPS-TV Public, Education, and Government (PEG) network cable station and AACPS' online video content. Supervises the daily activities of staff and oversees the production scheduling of on-air programming and event calendar for the cable station. Works closely with staff to produce video programs, PSAs, presentations for National and State meetings and public relations segments for initiatives systemwide. Provides oversight for live cable broadcast and streaming of Board of Education meetings, workshops, hearings, and forums. Provides the highest level of expertise and content knowledge in video production and communication and consults with central office and school-based staff at all levels to provide television programming and video to support instructional and community objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1.Manages and provides technical direction to staff for live broadcast/streaming of Board of Education meetings, workshops, hearings, forums and other school system events. Maintains compliance with Federal Communications Commission, (FCC) and National Television Systems Committee (NTSC) mandates.
2.Develops television programming to meet systemwide needs in all areas of the school system, including instruction, communications, and staff development. Collaborates with the Department of Instruction to provide support for staff development projects.
3.Works closely with staff, program hosts, and guests to develop and manage the studio/field production schedule for all programming, meet deadlines for broadcast programming schedules and to ensure and maintain a high quality of video production and programing.
4.Consults, confers, and works closely with teachers, administrators, and other school or central office staff-at all levels-regarding concept, subject matter, content, audience to determining the most effective production to meet school system needs.
5.Participates in studio and field production, from set up and recording of raw footage through editing of final product.
6.Collaborates with the Public Information Office to promote the goals and image of the school system in the areas of video communications, both internal and external.
7.Assists in establishing standards for and ensures integrity of transmitted original video programming.
8.Conceptualizes video treatments based on information provided by originator.
9.Evaluates and makes recommendations for purchase of new equipment and material.

Knowledge (portfolio) of all aspects of video production.
Knowledge of current trends and research in field of specialization.
Demonstrated ability to use professional video production equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio, and all studio production equipment.
Demonstrated ability to edit with video production software.
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, record, and edit to create a professional video production.
