Responsibilities

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the effective management of the facility and warehouse operations including, distribution, storage, logistics, shipping, receiving, purchase order tracking and reconciliation, inventory management. The Warehouse Manager must provide a high level of oversight, technical proficiency and operational personnel support to ensure the smooth running the operation. The Warehouse Manager will actively supervise, coach, counsel, direct, train and mentor employees while meeting business requirements and quality standards. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event/project-driven schedule which could include evenings, weekends and holidays. Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction and strong management and independent decision-making skills are required.

  • Manage day-to-day operations of warehousing operations, including: scheduling personnel, inventory control, freight forwarding, shipping and receiving, equipment pick list and shipment request fulfilment

  • Ensure that established procedures for tracking equipment, reconciling purchase order receiving and inventory control are maintained and adhered to

  • Oversee with full support from a facilities engineering team all aspects of the facility operation including, but not limited to housekeeping, facility infrastructure; HVAC, lighting, power/electrical, landscaping and outside maintenance, environmental, health and safety

  • Manage multiple direct reports including training, annual assessments, career development and action planning and evaluate warehouse employee performance

  • Provide direction to warehouse teams to ensure all works are completed accurately and in a timely manner

  • Ensure proper controllership processes and protocols are met within the Asset Management System by managing the real time tracking and tracing of owned, leased and rented NBC Sports assets

  • Manage the storage, movement and handling of a fleet of shipper owned sea containers

  • Perform routine maintenance; responsible for equipment cleaning and maintenance

  • Maintain records as required by governmental and corporate laws and policies

  • Ensure adherence to all state, federal and corporate oversight requirements for employees and facility

  • Support a high tech systems integration operation

  • Order and manage supply stock levels for all responsible areas

  • Supervise the receiving and shipping of all courier and express package shipments and mail

  • Pull, stage and ship technical equipment and production support materials as needed to and from various business locations and remote productions locations

  • Manage documentation of all NBCSG assets, equipment, furniture, fixtures and supplies during transportation to and from various locations

  • Work together with internal and external customers and suppliers

  • Lead any distribution and transportation related customer issues and resolution

  • Manage material handling and loading dock operations

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

College degree in business, Logistics, supply chain distribution, engineering or a related discipline required

Five years plus of logistical and warehouse or inventory control/asset management and or logistics experience or warehouse supervisory experience required

Excellent computer skills: Working knowledge of MS Office applications and the ability to learn and teach company specific applications

Ability to lead, guide and communicate effectively

Positive, professional attitude with pleasant personality

Proven effective managerial skills and techniques including excellent problem solving and prevention, planning, organizational and time management skills

Television and or Production industry experience preferred

Knowledge of Television, Production and or Communication equipment a plus

Forklift and heavy equipment experience preferred, Forklift Trainer certificate and HAZMAT Dangerous Goods Certificate a plus

Understanding of DOT regulations a plus

Proven knowledge of asset control and management systems and procedures

Strong verbal and written communication skills and analytical and problem-solving skills

A hands-on management approach that encourages change and creative problem-solving

Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels in support of customer relationships

Ability to meet strict time frames in environments with zero tolerance for failure

Strong relationship-building skills and solid integrity

Must possess experience and influencing skills necessary to manage cross-functional and third party reporting relationships and processes

Physically demanding position, must be able to lift at least 50 pounds

Position is based in Monroe, Connecticut

Valid driver's license required
