National Grid IT team is currently seeking an innovative and experienced, Senior Manager who will be responsible for managing the development of tools that will serve as the standard platform for creation, tracking , execution and deployment of various diverse programs driven using Agile and Waterfall methodologies. The Senior Manager will also pay the role of process owner, partnering closely with the Technical Managers, Product Owners, and Scrum Team Leads to achieve success against a defined set of desired business outcomes. This role will also be challenged with the transition of programs from waterfall methodology to Agile development practices as and where applicable.
The tools should cater to the needs of a diverse set of stakeholders such as business analysts, developers, quality analysts, Production IT teams, support etc and ensure consistency of processes across multiple programs across diverse teams
Create, manage, and support administrative functions for the Atlassian & other open source development and build products.
Evaluate and manage the use of Atlassian plug-ins and add-ons to meet business needs.
Manage a small team of Atlassian Admins as they perform the function of developing, testing, and deploying integrations between Atlassian products and other internal systems.
Assesses maturity of process and provides pragmatic/flexible recommendations to improve results as they relate to quality, speed to market, transparency, and adherence to business objectives.
Serve as the key SME and key owner for on boarding new projects and migrating existing projects on to the Atlassian suite of products
Serves as a guiding force on the governing committee responsible for resolving conflict, providing best practice recommendations, and removing impediments.
Provides coaching and mentoring to Agile standards (story writing, grooming, estimating, etc.)
Total 8+ years of experience with
Last 3+ years of experience in hands on Dev Ops end to end implementation and automation.
At least 5+ years project management experience, with a focus on Agile Methodologies,
Hands on knowledge of at least ONE or more relevant technologies in the following categories
Build systems Jenkins, Bamboo etc
Automation technologies Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc
Source control and code management BitBucket, GitHub, Perforce, TFS etc
Containers Docker, Kubernetes; Docker Swarm
Automated testing Selenium, Cucumber
Experience architecting and delivering on premise and/or cloud-based CI/CD solutions
Ability to maintain multiple parallel environments and ensures collaboration between Operations and Development team in promoting builds from Dev to Staging to Production
Hands on Configuration management, Release management and Application Performance Monitoring processes
