This Manager role is located in Waltham,MA.

National Grid IT team is currently seeking an innovative and experienced, Senior Manager who will be responsible for managing the development of tools that will serve as the standard platform for creation, tracking , execution and deployment of various diverse programs driven using Agile and Waterfall methodologies. The Senior Manager will also pay the role of process owner, partnering closely with the Technical Managers, Product Owners, and Scrum Team Leads to achieve success against a defined set of desired business outcomes. This role will also be challenged with the transition of programs from waterfall methodology to Agile development practices as and where applicable.

The tools should cater to the needs of a diverse set of stakeholders such as business analysts, developers, quality analysts, Production IT teams, support etc and ensure consistency of processes across multiple programs across diverse teams

Key Accountabilities

  • Create, manage, and support administrative functions for the Atlassian & other open source development and build products.

  • Evaluate and manage the use of Atlassian plug-ins and add-ons to meet business needs.

  • Manage a small team of Atlassian Admins as they perform the function of developing, testing, and deploying integrations between Atlassian products and other internal systems.

  • Assesses maturity of process and provides pragmatic/flexible recommendations to improve results as they relate to quality, speed to market, transparency, and adherence to business objectives.

  • Serve as the key SME and key owner for on boarding new projects and migrating existing projects on to the Atlassian suite of products

  • Serves as a guiding force on the governing committee responsible for resolving conflict, providing best practice recommendations, and removing impediments.

  • Provides coaching and mentoring to Agile standards (story writing, grooming, estimating, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Total 8+ years of experience with

  • Last 3+ years of experience in hands on Dev Ops end to end implementation and automation.

  • At least 5+ years project management experience, with a focus on Agile Methodologies,

  • Hands on knowledge of at least ONE or more relevant technologies in the following categories

  • Build systems Jenkins, Bamboo etc

  • Automation technologies Chef, Puppet, Ansible etc

  • Source control and code management BitBucket, GitHub, Perforce, TFS etc

  • Containers Docker, Kubernetes; Docker Swarm

  • Automated testing Selenium, Cucumber

  • Operational monitoring

  • AppDynamics, Splunk;
  • Web App Servers
  • IIS , NGINX, Node,
  • Experience architecting and delivering on premise and/or cloud-based CI/CD solutions

  • Ability to maintain multiple parallel environments and ensures collaboration between Operations and Development team in promoting builds from Dev to Staging to Production

  • Hands on Configuration management, Release management and Application Performance Monitoring processes

National Grid IT team is currently seeking an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented software engineer to implement the application lifecycle management (ALM) using Atlassian & open source products. You will work with solutions & service development teams to resolve issues and ensure quality throughout the development and release process. You will work in a highly collaborative environment in agile, cross-functional teams. Key Accountabilities * Be part of high performing software engineering team developing highly responsive application, mobile apps and building DevOps engineering pipeline for Agile development * Execute full lifecycle software development including writing well-designed, testable, efficient code and integrating software components into a fully-functional software system. * Leverage existing software and hardware deployed as part of the existing IT estate while experimenting with the creation of new applications/frameworks with minimal direction. * Develop POCs and be able to demonstrate new ideas and experiment with new technologies * Develop highly responsive SPA Websites, create user friendly Mobile Apps, develop CI/CD pipelines, automate deployment and develop dashboards * Perform Data Analytics and reporting * Build Test Automation platform for other teams to utilize and automate testing Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering * At least 1- 2 years tech industry experience as a computer software engineer or software developer with hands-on experience in designing interactive applications * Very sharp analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to write good logic and highly maintainable and efficient code * Very strong programming experience in one of the major languages such as C# or Java or Python Desired skills: * Familiar with one or more web front end technologies like Angular, ReactJS, TypeScript.
