As a Manager in the Company's technical accounting and SEC reporting team, this individual, at the direction of the Director, Technical Accounting and Reporting, will manage the all aspects of accounting research, derivative and RINs general ledger accounting, and play a key supporting role in the SEC reporting process in conjunction with Manager, SEC Reporting. This individual will drive the implementation and maintenance of key accounting policies and procedures, act as the lead on complex accounting projects, and assist other accounting groups in assessing complex accounting matters.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Master's Degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required.
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in accounting and/or external reporting required, including 2+ years of supervisory experience.
5+ years of SEC or complex financial reporting-related experience, in public accounting assisting SEC or large private company clients or in a corporate SEC/financial reporting department required.
Significant experience in researching complex accounting matters and documenting conclusions with formal accounting white papers strongly preferred.
2+ years of Sarbanes Oxley 404 experience preferred..
Experience preparation or review of XBRL tagging preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of Oracle Financials or other enterprise resource system preferred.
Experience with complex general ledger typically found in a mid to large-sized organization preferred.
Solid accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
Advanced skills in Microsoft office suite required.
Advanced Spreadsheet and report writing applications skills.
Fluent in English, both oral and written required.

Manage the researching and documenting of complex accounting matters across the business, other accounting groups, and SEC reporting.
For evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner.
Actively participate and/or lead cross-functional efforts to draft and implement new or revised accounting policies and implement processes and applications that have a direct impact on the Company's financial statements.
Manage the day-to-day accounting for derivative activity and the refining company's accounting for expense associated with compliance under the Renewable Fuel Standards (RFS) and related Renewable Identification Number (RIN) activity.
Coordinate with the Manager SEC Reporting to participate in the preparation and review of financial reports and SEC filings, including those on Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, Form 8-K, S-3, S-4 and other regulatory filings, as required.
Coordinate and document the companies' annual goodwill impairment assessment.
Coordinate with accounting groups to perform timely review of information related to complex judgment areas to ensure adequate documentation is maintained and conclusions are accurate.
Review of non-GAAP reconciliations and disclosures for the Annual Report.
Review of US GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists.
Responsible for keeping current with accounting, SEC and industry developments and analyzing the impact to the Company.
Assist in preparation and review of detailed variance analysis of Company results.
Assist in preparation and review of summaries and analysis for audit committee presentations.
Assists with SOX 404 compliance.
Complete ad hoc requests for financial information.
Regularly communicate with supervisor on work progress, concerns and questions.
Accurate, timely and clear documentation of complex accounting matters for dissemination to other accounting groups, management and other executives.
Accurate and timely completion of general ledger accounting for derivative and RIN activity.
Accurate and timely completion of 10-K and 10-Q forms to meet SEC requirements.
Timely execution of communication and dissemination of SEC, SOX and other relevant information.
Maintain and enhance knowledge of GAAP, SEC, SOX, XBRL and MD&A rules and regulations.
Effectual, proficient support of accounting department and various reporting and analytical projects.
Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
