KPMG is currently seeking a Manager to join our Tax Ignition practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and teams delivering tax process improvement, data management, and related tax process transformation services for domestic and international tax departments; utilize a convergent skill set of both technical tax and process/technology

  • Work with tax department clients to understand their overall operational, data, and information requirements across the tax lifecycle in order to design, create, and implement ONESOURCE Tax Provision (OTP) and ONESOURCE Income Tax (OIT).

  • Design and develop standardized ONESOURCE DataFlow (ODF) or ONESOURCE Workpaper (OWP) Excel templates for tax workpaper packages, data collection, book-to-tax reports, extraction reports, and consolidation reports using advanced excel modeling skills like PowerQuery, PowerPivot.

  • Integrate ODF and OWP templates to push/pull collected data with other Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE applications (OIT, OTP) and with 3rd party source/financial systems such as SharePoint, various ERP systems, and other financial systems

  • Ability to travel and train clients and KPMG team members on the use of OWM and ODF and provide ongoing client support; act as an OWM and ODF subject matter specialist for KPMG

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of a combination of corporate tax and tax technology experience gained in a well-regarded audit, tax or advisory services firm, corporation or technology service provider

  • Bachelor's degree, J.D., LL.M. in taxation, and/or Master's degree in Taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university

  • Working experience in reviewing current state tax department environments for data management and data collection needs; subsequently designing, creating, and implementing DataFlow templates to centralize, standardize, automate, and integrate tax data collection processes across the tax lifecycle

  • Knowledge of Thomson Reuters tax systems such as OTP, OIT, ODF, and Excel Add-In

  • Licensed CPA, J.D., LL.M or certified in one or more technology applications such as Certified Implementer Program (DataFlow CIP), ONESOURCE Tax Provision (OTP), ONESOURCE Income Tax (OIT) or Project Manager Professional (PMP) (Please note: Any candidate hired by KPMG into this position that does not currently possess one of the aforementioned credentials/designations, will be required to secure one within one year from the commencement of employment)

  • Demonstrated application of analytical skills with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well, both autonomously and collaboratively, in a team with KPMG's subject matter specialists in ODF, OIT, OTP & Excel Modeling

Responsibilities: * Support teams of client and KPMG personnel in the execution of project work, monitor and support progress against project milestones to help ensure timely and high quality delivery across a variety of clients within multiple industries specific to fixed assets. * Conduct on-site review of activities and qualitative analyses to evaluate tax treatment of expenditures * Collect data from company subject matter experts, including technical specialists, accounting, and finance personnel; review voluminous databases of fixed assets for errors, inconsistencies, and potential savings * Work with client on solutions specific to Alteryx and/or Excel * Perform reconciliations between financial and tax reporting of relevant expenditures and prepare client reports and deliverables * Calculate depreciation expense amounts and develop financial models from project results Qualifications: * A minimum of three years related experience * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or Licensed CPA, Master of Tax, or J.D./LL.M. * Knowledge of fixed assets * Experience managing multiple client engagements, including accounting or fixed assets * Desire to focus on non-routine and non-recurring tax advisory and project related work.
