Summary:

The Manager, Tax Compliance leads a team of tax experts in successfully executing projects and solutions that align with the strategy and have broad business impact. The Manager, Tax Compliance will work closely with development teams to identify and understand key features and their underlying functionality while also partnering closely with Product Management and Customer Support. They may exercise influence and govern overall end-to-end software development life cycle-related activities including management of support and maintenance releases, minor functional releases, and major projects. The Manager, Tax Compliance will lead and provide guidance for process improvement programs while leveraging best practices. In this people leadership role, managers will recruit, train, motivate, coach, grow, and develop the Tax Compliance team members at a variety of levels through their operational delivery and provide continuous feedback to ensure employee expectations, customer needs, and product demands are met.

About the Role:

  • Manage and provide support to the tax compliance team across multiple initiatives

  • Develop new approaches to solve somewhat ambiguous problems identified across the software development lifecycle.

  • May manage budget for projects, programs, or products within the area

Delivery

  • Evaluates new approaches, and capabilities and participates in decision-making, accounting for several factors

  • Manages building enhancement content within an existing software build process and occasionally suggests improvements.

  • Provides suggestions for handling routine and moderately complex technical problems, escalating issues when appropriate.

  • Uses acumen to apply and maintain knowledge of current and emerging tax issues within specialized area(s) of the entity domain

  • Leads or sets strategy for testing and debugging for content release.

  • In complex and unstructured situations, serves as an expert resource to create and improve standards and best practices to ensure high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure deliverables.

  • Leads the design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of services.

  • Comfortable talking about and learning about every part of the development process to find optimizations and efficiency

  • Demonstrates strong domain-specific knowledge regarding the capabilities of our products

  • Communicates and coordinates with the project team, partners, and stakeholders

  • Demonstrates expertise in analysis and optimization of systems capacity, performance, and operational health

  • Understands and develops solutions to foster data lifecycle management

  • Stays current with new and evolving methodologies via formal training and self-directed education

  • May help in the procurement of services/solutions for the project.

  • Accountable for the successful execution of technology projects including support and maintenance releases, minor functional releases and major products.

  • Accountable for technical delivery across multiple projects/products by providing guidance and support to project leads to assist in removing project impediments.
