Primary Job Function

Serves as a division talent and organization consulting leader. Plans, executes and delivers talent and organization strategies and interventions for the clients including:

  • Working with the Medical Devices Division Talent and Organization Consulting group leader to develop strategy to support the execution of business strategy and the unique business needs of the divisions.

  • Determining how talent and organization solutions are used to achieve long-term business success and add value to meet organizational needs.

  • Analyzing, designing and delivering a range of talent and organization solutions, and designing and implementing performance improvement interventions to meet employee and organizational needs.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Work with division business and HR leaders to assess, diagnose, plan and implement strategic talent and organization solutions to support business strategy.

  • Partners with Business Human Resources and business leaders to provide talent & organization support to achieve business objectives.

  • Measures and reports the impact of talent and organization interventions using evaluation, metrics, focus groups and performance results.

  • Uses Business Human Resources and business input to develop the annual Talent Development plan.

  • Provides consulting support to Business Human Resources and/or key customers and stakeholders on executing key talent and organization strategies. The key stakeholders/internal clients are the senior leadership team and HR business partners for the Medical Devices line of business.

  • Acts as true critical-thinking, solution-offering consultant to our organization, a complex multinational corporation.

  • Proactively works with Talent Development partners to design and implement talent and organization plans. This may include organization/team effectiveness, leadership development and change management.

  • May lead or participate in talent management-related activities such as division talent management review preparation and facilitation and Talent Management System support.

  • May facilitate leadership team meetings, partner with HR to design interventions for the entire line of business.

  • Participate in enterprise wide strategic Talent Development/HR initiatives.

  • Estimated 20% travel across US and international Abbott locations.

Position Accountability / Scope

Reports to the Medical Devices lead consultant and will work directly and independently with BHR DVPs and Directors. Interacts and partners with:

  • Business leaders including: General Managers, Division Vice Presidents, other leaders

  • HR including: BHR Division Vice Presidents, Regional/Affiliate Business Human Resources and Human Resources Directors

  • Talent and Organization Consulting colleagues and Talent Development practice center colleagues

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree. Master's degree in L&D, OD or related field preferred

Minimum Experience / Training Required

  • 7 years of progressive learning and development experience in a variety of disciplines including OD, consulting, org design, training, leadership development, talent management, performance management and change management.

  • Experience working in large, complex global organizations.

  • Experience in large professional services consulting preferred.

  • Proven success in collaborative leadership and working with executive leaders and internal HR partners

  • Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize and effectively manage multiple complex projects concurrently within a fast-paced environment

Working with customers, external partners, industry analysts and the HPE Geo teams at the global, country, and region levels, you will develop and execute the overall strategy and tactics to win. Your focus will be on developing new compelling OS customer value in multi cloud environments, targeting large enterprise through mid-market customers deploying private, public and hybrid cloud solutions. This new OS value will enable HPE Pointnext order, revenue, and margin growth while also creating pull through of other HPE products and services. The role will involve collaborating closely with multiple teams including OS globally, Advisory and Professional Services, Hybrid Cloud Services, and many other functional teams. In this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of customer needs in the Cloud segment and be able to develop the OS strategy and services to win in this segment. Services developed will be sold through multiple routes to market including direct, channel and via System Integrators (SIs). This will involve working closely with the Worldwide HPE Pointnext Category Management leads, Channel organization and Alliances group. Your work will involve some travel and working with multiple teams from around the world, including Operational Services, Advisory and Professional Services, HPE Product Organizations and all sales channels. Position is expected to include 10% global travel but may vary depending on the needs of the business. As a Business Services Manager, your work will have significant influence on our service strategy and provide critical value to our customers.
