Duties: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Perform maintenance and optimize existing Splunk deployments. Analyze existing distributed deployment Splunk Environment.

Design and implement clustered Splunk deployment for searching and reporting modules. Knowledge objects, administration, add-on, dashboards, clustering search head, indexer across data centers and forwarder management. Onboard and migrate all existing queries in Splunk to new instances of Splunk.

Work on a high availability solution for Splunk. Create Splunk applications using XML and web components. Daily platform support and maintenance.

Engineer high availability solutions to maintain platform uptime. Monitor tools software maintenance and patching. Platform licensing, performance, planning, and capacity review.

Build automation and scripting using Salt Stack and Python development. Full platform lifecycle management. Advanced Linux OS support troubleshooting and configuration.

Performance tuning. Software install and configuration, shell scripting, stop/start processes. Troubleshoot processes, connectivity, resource utilization, log analysis, and error identification.

Document current architectural configurations, detailed data flow, and troubleshooting guides for application support. Position allows for 100% remote work. Reports to company HQs in Westlake, TX.

Job Location: Westlake, TX Salary: $148,215.00 to $179,900.00 per year What you have Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Requires 3 years of related experience, which must include some experience in the following skills: SQL, HTML, DHTML, XML, Python, Bash, Shell Scripting, and Python-Statistical Programming; Log Analysis Tool: Splunk 8.x/7.x, Splunk ES, Splunk DBConnect2.0, Splunk ITSI, or Splunk ITOA, Machine Learning, and Data Visualization; Configuration and Version control tools:

Bitbucket, Git, Bamboo, JIRA, and SALT; Define, measure, analyze, and improve user engagement and platform performance; DB2/Linux, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle; and Unix/Linux (Red Hat), VMware, BM AIX (5.1/6.1), or Windows NT.
