We have a rare opportunity for a hardworking Strategic Military Sub-Contracts Manager to be based in E. Hartford, CT. Do you wish you could put your expertise to better use? If you are ready for a challenge, then we urge you to apply.

The selected candidate will be the primary focal point for suppliers and internal customers regarding sub-contract issues and interpretation of sub-contract requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to exercise discretion and work independently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • You will be supporting request for proposal development, performing the drafting, review and negotiation of contract terms and conditions, and administration of the resulting sub-contracts in support of prime contracts with the US Government.

  • You will be responsible for working with different program teams on various sub-contracts that support the sales plans of the organization.

  • You will be responsible for the sub-contract from start to contract closeout.

  • You will interact closely with the Program and Business Development teams in the formation and administration of sub-contracts.

  • This position will require you to have significant interpersonal interaction with various Program Managers and Business Managers within the organization.

  • You must be ready to show your an independent learner, possess strong team working skills, strong document drafting skills, have an understanding of aerospace business and legal issues, and be familiar with ACE process improvement tools.

  • You maybe required to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance in the future.

  • Must be willing to travel (Domestic and/or International travel)

Do you meet these Basic Qualifications?

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4-6+ years' experience required in working in US Government Contracting and sub-contracting preferred.
  • US Citizen due to program requirements

How about any of these Preferred Qualifications?

  • JD or Master's degree with 2-4+ years' experience preferred

  • Will have experience working with Federal Acquisition Regulations and the Government procurement process.

  • Must demonstrate good leadership and able to work with minimal supervision and in a fast paced environment.

  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills

  • Export and Import (EAR, ITAR) experience a plus

  • FAR - Federal Acquisition Regulations JD or Master's Degree Government procurement process

  • % Travel Required 10%
