Amazon Pay is a high growth startup business within Amazon. Amazon Pay's mission is to provide Amazon customers a superior paying experience anywhere they shop. Our objective is to make Amazon Pay a ubiquitous payment option for customers. Amazon Pay is now available in 18 countries, allowing buyers to leverage Amazon's trusted, convenient, and rewarding wallet for third party purchase experiences online.

The Amazon Pay Strategic Account Sales team is responsible for strategic sales to new e-commerce merchants. The team is responsible for accelerating growth, expanding the adoption and usage of Amazon Pay in both new and existing verticals.

This role will manage a team of account executives responsible for new business end-to-end, including understanding market dynamics, evaluating new merchant opportunities, conducting merchant outreach, negotiating term sheets and agreements and driving to execution. This role will also work across Amazon to utilize other products and services to create new and powerful value propositions for merchants.

The position requires a leader who can work autonomously in a fast paced, highly demanding and ambiguous environment.

Successful candidates need to possess great business judgement, with a track record of strong project delivery, commercial negotiations and relationship management along with deep analytical acumen.

Key job responsibilities

  • Hire, develop, and grow a high performing team of Account Executives

  • Execute a sales acquisition strategy for enterprise-sized merchants

  • Work with a sense of urgency to drive and deliver sales goals while maintaining a high quality of work

  • Drive business reviews with team member and perform analysis to understand sales trends and drivers and develop recommendations on how to grow the business

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the specific market segments, seasonality and business trends/events

  • Lead a team that closes high impact strategic merchants driving revenue, product adoption and strategic outcomes for Amazon Pay

  • Lead a team that executes and launches deals/contracts working cross functionally with legal, Corp BD, compliance, business and product teams

  • Lead a team that manages a portfolio of Amazon Pay target merchants, influencing their tech road maps

  • Ability to represent Amazon Pay to C-Suite leaders at target companies

  • Deep on technical business models and product integrations

  • Work cross-functionally with legal, Corp BD, compliance, business and product teams

  • Drive innovation to address opportunities for enhanced merchant growth at scale

  • Own robust goals for revenue, product adoption and strategic actions

  • Lead with an analytical approach to strategic account sales, leveraging data to drive decisions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience in sales/business development, ecommerce, payments and retail experience indirectly leading operational and project teams

  • Experience developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience

  • Experience managing teams in fast-paced environment

  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

  • Excellent collaboration skills, ability to impact and influence outcomes in matrixed environment

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate high-value deals with senior executives and positively influence the outcome

  • Analytical approach to problem solving and a track record of driving results through continuous improvement

  • Demonstrated experience and success leading impactful, cross-functional projects

  • Experience in either technical business development, technical sales or online retail

  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and generate innovative solutions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong business acumen

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to navigate an undefined, ambiguous space

  • Positive attitude and willingness to roll up sleeves and dig deep to achieve goals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA

  • Bachelor degree

  • Experience in fintech or payments

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $110,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
