SUMMARY
The Manager, Store Operations Support and Communications is a highly collaborative position that leads a cross functional effort to define, align and implement programs and tools for the field organization.
This position serves as a thought leader for company projects and initiatives to drive successful communication and execution in the field. The Manager, Store Operations Support and Communications requires the management and prioritization of multiple projects and seeks to improve on the status quo by proactively creating new and unique solutions. This position serves as the store liaison for all company-led initiatives and projects to ensure we are focused on supporting improved business processes, customer experience and enhanced productivity in stores. Responsible for leading a team that supports the field through communication, system enhancement, operational standards, and a call center fielding in-bound calls, and emails via a ticketing system.
This position partners cross functionally with various departments to find solutions, recommend new ideas for improved operational effectiveness, manages the delivery of tools, training, and is the gatekeeper of communication to over 850+ stores and +$2.5B in sales.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Lead the development of operational best practices, training assets, tools and resources to engage store leadership to achieve operational excellence
Proactively identify and address store operational issues by identifying opportunities, taking risks and utilizing creative strategies to generate solutions
Manage partnership with technical teams, field partners and other cross functional resources to review performance of store tools, usage and develop strategy for future enhancements
Define the vision for the Field Communications platform and execute the strategy for communication processes, distribution and retention
Act as the gatekeeper to control the accuracy, delivery and amount of communications sent to stores
Provide coaching, direction and leadership support to team members (direct reports and others) in order to achieve business and customer results
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively across the organization including Executive leadership
Apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and operational practices to achieve successful outcomes on cross-functional projects and activities
Prioritize store initiatives and manage the implementation and execution to the field organization
Apply critical thinking to identify root problems and inspire team to find creative solutions
Challenge the status quo and manage the development of operational efficiencies and strategies for future growth
Strong written and verbal presentation skills
Experience with POS software, hardware and other retail digital tools and systems
WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to travel, including overnight stays as required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Education: Bachelor Degree in Business, Communications or a related field of study
Minimum Experience: 5 years' experience in operations in a big box or large format retail environment. At least 3 years' experience leading a team to drive operational efficiencies and achieve company results.
