Amex Insights is a global enterprise-wide center of excellencethat brings our customer's voice and mind to the forefront of businessdecisions. We work closely with the American Express Business Units tocreate and deliver insights that are linked to the commercial priorities ofAmerican Express. The Manager/Senior Manager, Amex Insights will act as astrategic partner to the American Express Global Consumer Lending organization,providing insight-driven thought leadership on how to build and grow all segmentsof our Consumer Lending business in a highly competitive environment. This rolerequires someone who is passionate about bringing the consumer to bear ineverything we do, has an innate interest in marketing & innovation/productdevelopment and strategy, and is comfortable with both quantitative andqualitative data. The successful candidate will be a "decision changeagent", adept at turning data and consumer learnings into a compellingstory with clear implications, and then helping to advocate for theirimplementation. Insights capabilities to meet the new and evolving needs and expectations basedon how the organization functions and the availability of 21st century datasources.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the GlobalConsumer Lending product & marketing teams to deliver powerful consumerinsights that help inspire, develop and evaluate

  • Design research plans againstbusiness objectives, timelines and budget. Manage supplier selection,activity and work flow to ensure cost efficient, accurate, and timelycompletion of projects

  • Analyze disparate datasets andtranslate findings into meaningful consumer insights and recommendations,integrating relevant business knowledge and learning from otherprojects/sources. Demonstrate the ability to tell a story and share a point ofview that will drive business action, not just present findings

  • Contribute to a culture of innovationby finding new and better ways of doing things: identify, create and employinnovative research approaches

  • Develop credibility and manage strongtwo-way working relationships with cross-functional, cross-country businessteams, consumer insight counterparts, as well as external suppliers and partners

  • Act as a champion of consumer empathyand inspire consumer curiosity throughout the organization

  • Minimum 6 years in a strategic insights or marketing role

  • Understanding of both Qualitative and Quantitative research methodologies and must possess the ability to apply insights to address business challenges

  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Proven collaboration abilities, strategic thinking and leadership skills

  • Must demonstrate both analytical and creative thinking abilities

  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) - Ability to tell a story, synthesize and convey key messages and present in a visual and compelling way

  • Excellent Project Management and Organizational skills

  • Ideal candidate will have strong commercial focus or will have a strong desire to develop these skills

  • Must be able to work independently in sometimes ambiguous situations

  • Must demonstrate a can-do attitude and be able to easily flex in the face of changing priorities

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree

This role is part of the premium business group within the premium strategy team. Having an MBA with Marketing specialization is a plus! * You've worked on the client-side experience (preferably with a CPG//tech company with a state of the art insights organization) * You are passionate about music with a deep understanding of genres, artists and various types of content * You are passionate about technology, and abreast of new technology especially as it impacts content and music streaming * You have a deep understanding of research tools & techniques – Quantitative, Qualitative, Analytics * You are a strategic thinker with an independent mindset i.e. to think strategically at project level by understanding how results address overall business issue * You are experienced working with first party behavioral data to integrate into actionable insights * You enjoy being actively involved and participating in all projects across stages from design to analysis * You are experienced at crafting questionnaires, and have experience with qualtrics and other self-serving tools as well as SPSS * You are able to manage multiple priorities and operate autonomously * You are a phenomenal communicator and are able to influencer others & impact decision-making * Ability and desire to travel We are proud to foster a workplace free from discrimination.
