Position Title: Manager, Sponsorships and Events Employment Requirement Not Applicable Division/Department: Institutional Advancement Location Albany Campus, Albany, OR Job Summary:

Actively develops strategic relationships with community members, businesses, and donors to identify potential resources and partnerships to increase the LBCC Foundation's resources and further Linn-Benton Community College's mission and vision. Meets with and presents information to current and potential new businesses to seek and appeal for financial sponsorships and partnerships.

Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience: The position requires a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of three years in event management, nonprofit, and sponsorship work, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables full performance of all aspects of the position. Experience in nonprofit fundraising and establishing business ties in the local communities is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The ideal candidate should have a successful track record of leading events and creating the marketing strategy for the events. Polished and professional. Work proactively with minimal management participation. Strong Event content and communications creation. Excellent follow-through and ability to track and communicate return on investment (ROI). Flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to work evenings and weekends intermittently required.

Licenses and Certificates: A valid Oregon driver's license and access to reliable transportation are required. Must meet and maintain adherence to the college's driver screening guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications: Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Physical Skills and Abilities: Requires learned physical skill to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Occasional lifting and moving of light to medium-weight (up to 40lbs) objects, such as boxes of documents, bulk mailings, and set-up materials for various events. Required to climb (e.g., ladder). Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers. Requires speaking and hearing ability sufficient to hear over the phone and carry on routine conversations.

Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office setting with little or no exposure to health and safety hazards. Travel to attend community and fundraising events, donor meetings, etc., is required. Occasional evening or weekend work will be required.

Essential Duties:

  • Actively develops strategic relationships with community members, businesses, and donors to identify potential resources and partnerships to increase the LBCC Foundation's resources and further Linn-Benton Community College's mission and vision. Meets with and presents information to current and potential new businesses to seek and appeal for financial sponsorships and partnerships.

  • Engages and interacts with businesses with high integrity and preparedness so as not to damage financial relationships, which would lead to a decline in student and program support. Maintains confidentiality of all personal and financial interactions.

  • Responsible for fulfilling marketing strategy, including planning, implementing, coordinating logistics, and procuring sponsorships and events in all markets. This will encompass both external and internal events.

  • Reviews, develops, and creates sponsorship opportunities, including materials, branding, and benefits for businesses. Creates benefit amounts and levels of sponsorships that are mutually beneficial to the foundation and the business, creating long-lasting partnerships.

  • Creates new annual fundraising events for the foundation that will bring together the communities we serve to raise funds for scholarships and emergency funds for students.

  • Manages a master calendar of events with timelines to run an effective event season, around 25 events per year. Procure 40-50 sponsorships per year totaling $100,000+ in sponsorship revenue.

  • Responsible for the logistical coordination of internal and external events, ensuring all stages of planning, development, and execution are defined and achieved.

  • Organizes multiple tasks efficiently, staying on track at the same time, and consolidates the processes, operations, and approaches to improve them.

  • Coordinate event logistics, including but not limited to procurement of necessary donations, venue oversight, communications with vendors, creation of a written program, same-day set-up, and event execution.

  • Script and plan large-scale event messages and activities with a fundraising focus for up to 350 people, as well as online events and small-group events such as donor appreciation parties. Coordinate post-event information, including guest surveys, expense and income reports, and Board of Director summaries.

  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to create event collateral, ensuring the branding events support the LBCC Foundation and vision

  • Work in partnership with the College President and the Foundation Executive Director to help with naming opportunities and sponsorships for capital campaigns.

  • Assist and coordinate social media for third-party events, donor support, and interest. Be able to present to audiences.

  • Interacts, coordinates, and communicates with all levels of management and internal and external business customers to ensure effective use of systems and processes, provide event updates, and coordinate event activities.

  • Coordinates invitation solicitations, advanced and onsite registration, and post-event follow-up of surveys.

  • Procure and secure naming opportunities when capital campaigns arise with the College and foundation.

  • Adhere to and interpret, as needed, College and Foundation policies, procedures, Administrative Rules, and by-laws.

  • Perform other related duties or special projects as assigned.
