The Opportunity

We are looking for a Manager, Solution Architecture to help lead our solution architecture team. The ideal candidate will help oversee the design, development, and implementation of product and client solutions that align with our business goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of architectural principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This role would be a working leader role meaning the candidate would need to also fulfill the role of being a solution architect. This is a technical role and requires the individual to understand data and software architecture, design, and testing principles, and be able to apply them to ensure the delivery of software products of the highest quality and standards.

Supervisor Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and leadership to staff; guide, coach, mentor and develop staff ensuring compliance with processes and procedures.

  • Handle interviewing, hiring, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, compensation, counseling and termination of staff.

  • Develop and maintain staff by applying the necessary training and leadership that will allow internal growth and advancement.

  • Direct staff, to ensure that all duties are performed according to department performance standards.

Day in the Life

  • Solution Design and Implementation:

  • Design end-to-end technology solutions that meet business requirements and align with enterprise architecture.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of solution architectures, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and secure.

  • Collaborate with project managers to plan and execute solution implementation projects.

  • Technical Expertise and Innovation:

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge.

  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance our solution architecture capabilities.

  • Lead initiatives to modernize and optimize existing systems and processes.

  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with business units to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.

  • Collaborate with IT, development, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of solutions.

  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and understanding.

  • Governance and Compliance:

  • Ensure all solutions adhere to organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Implement governance frameworks to ensure the consistency and quality of solution architectures.

  • Monitor and review solution architectures to ensure they meet compliance and performance standards.

  • Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision for solution architecture aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

  • Define long-term plans, roadmaps, and initiatives to drive innovation, enhance efficiency, and meet business needs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Management Information Systems Business related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Scrum Certification preferred.

  • Additional certifications in ITIL, Six Sigma, TOGAF and Agile strongly preferred.

  • Seven (7) years experience in a solution architecture or developer subject matter expert role.

  • Three (3) years of Resource Management required. Five (5) years in a senior or subject matter expect position.

For California, Colorado and New York Applicants: In accordance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this position is between:

$117,000.00 - $152,100.00

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
