Overview

Arc Publishing is a SaaS startup within the Washington Post for publishers and brands to produce, maintain and publish content for newsrooms and marketing teams. Arc is quickly becoming the leader in publishing focused software development.

The Professional Services team is responsible for developing bespoke solutions for new client onboarding onto the Arc Publishing platform. We're seeking a talented engineering manager to join our diverse team of engineers that is shaping the future of how we do client development at the Post. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage full stack teams of software engineers that design, implement, instrument, test, deploy and support their own code.

  • Be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects in an Agile process.

  • Coach team members on a daily basis, set goals and conduct performance reviews.

  • Own the full lifecycle of your team's QA and Operations.

  • Have a deep understanding of how our products and client solutions are built and sometimes contribute technically to client soutions.

  • Have an understanding of client needs and design solutions for how to achieve them.

  • Work with Technical Delivery Managers and Product Owners to maintain a roadmap and project plan that meets the demands of our clients.

  • Turn the roadmap into staffing needs and a hiring strategy.

  • Implement a technical strategy that ensures future success of your products and teams.

  • Contribute to design and architecture of systems that span multiple teams and/or products.

Qualifications

  • Several years in an engineering management or senior engineering team lead role

  • Experience architecting and implementing solutions on top of AWS

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

These services include Technical Account Managers, Professional Services and Resident Engineers. The successful candidate will be employing world-class account management, collaboration and strategic selling skills to identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities, within Enterprise Accounts. The successful candidate should be a highly competent presenter, with a demonstrable track record of selling services to C level executives. The position reports into the Sr. Manager of Service Sales. Your Impact The person in this role will be supporting a large team of Global Accounts sales reps and must be a team player and be able to sell through a direct sales team and channel partners. Proven experience selling services to large enterprise companies and successful results working in a sales overlay role in a similar company is required. Domestic travel is required and International travel may be required as necessary. It is desirable that the candidate has knowledge of network infrastructure based security appliances, including but not limited to: Firewalls, SSL/IPSec VPNs, Security Proxies and Caches, Cloud environments including ASW, Azure and GCP and SOC environments. Candidates should also have practical knowledge of routing and switching products that will be installed adjacent to the Palo Alto Networks appliances. Your Experience * BS technical degree or equivalent * 10+ years of sales experience and working within consulting organizations * Self motivated and detail oriented * Ability to facilitate workshops with cross functional resources to develop 3 - 5 year strategic services roadmaps * Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, both internally and externally * Enterprise sales experience, with an actionable contact list of decision makers * Superb organizational and prioritization skills * 'Whatever it takes' attitude and motivation to deliver above quota performance * Experience defining and building a services sales organization * Experience working with Channel partners and an understanding of a channel centric go to market approach.
