The SEO manager is responsible for managing all SEO activities such as strategy, statistics and building best practices to ensure that all content is optimal. The SEO Manager reports directly to the VP, Operations, LeaseLabs.


Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Understanding new changes to the industry and adjusting processes to align with them.

  • Be knowledgeable of industry leaders and publications

  • Internal Status Meetings

o Weekly standups

o Management level meetings

  • Understand the overall performance of the department

o Weekly metrics

o Monthly metrics

o Individual account status

  • Account assignments

  • Mentorship

o SEO strategy training

o SEO Tool training

o Career Development

o Coordinate external training and attending conferences

o 1:1 Coaching sessions

  • Vendor relations

  • Point of contact for other products & teams

  • Internal SEO escalation

  • Client performance reviews support

  • HR Admin for timesheets and other misc. HR related duties

  • SEO Process documentation and strategy ideation

  • Work with engineering to ensure latest SEO trends for code are implemented in CMS

  • Provide analysis to improve SEO business processes and enable accurate decision-making

  • Conduct periodic internal audits and create reports of findings

  • Support other teams with gathering and analysis of data as needed

  • Maintain documentation of existing and future processes


  • A management style of independence and autonomy

  • Ability to recognize strengths and provide appropriate coaching to build skillset

  • Able to motivate employees, resolve conflicts, and make hard decisions for your employees

  • Able to emphasize and connect with employees

  • Foster a sense of community within the department in order to achieve high levels of internal support and effectiveness

  • Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition

  • Understanding of agency and large corporate environment to achieve results in a timely manner

  • Understanding of Google and the algorithms that affect rankings and how to implement appropriate optimizations to websites

  • In depth knowledge of Google services including Search Console, Google My Business, Data Studio, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Google Ads.

  • Proficiency or high level of understanding of the following tools:

o AHrefs

o Authority Labs

o SEMRush

o Yext

o Screaming Frog

o Ninja Outreach (or similar outreach tool)

o Slack

o Jira / Confluence

o Salesforce

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Schema, JavaScript, and basics of web development and coding

  • Knowledge of DNS, SSL, and other server related protocols

  • Understand the difference between local, regional, and national SEO campaigns

  • Ability to delegate meaningful tasks and challenge SEO reps

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively within the organization and team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

About You Our Account Managers are our resident SEO experts, responsible for keeping on top of trends, developments, and best practices and putting them to optimal use for each client they support: brand-name companies who demand – and recognize – excellence. You will be tasked with continuing to help grow 3Q's organic search service offerings, processes, and supporting the team—taking what we've already built and making it work better and scale even more effectively. As an SEO Account Manager, you'll be responsible for the following key areas: 1) design and execution of SEO strategy 2) acting as the primary SEO point-of-contact for your assigned clients by answering client emails and leading weekly calls 3) project management on accounts you own. You will need to have more than SEO experience; you will need to have the drive to work independently and the communication skills to work as part of a thriving team. You'll be responsible for: * Driving SEO strategy for top tier clients * Creating and managing SEO project plans for owned SEO clients * Defining upfront client SEO requirements and site changes that will increase quality traffic, maximize site performance, improve search result listings, and ultimately drive value for our clients. Strategic requirements include elements such as: market/industry research, benchmarking, technical/site architecture assessment, keyword/content strategy, integration of online and offline, and online asset assessments * Manage development of deliverables, reporting, strategy implementation, and all direct communications with development resources, paid search team, vendor partners, and the management team * Acting as the face of 3Q by managing and facilitating all owned client calls and meetings * Providing consistent and well-structured follow up on status of SEO recommendations for all owned clients * Leading ongoing/monthly analysis and reporting to identify further optimization opportunities for each of our clients * Quantifying and prioritizing initiatives/opportunities accordingly * Creating and delivering presentations and written briefs * Overseeing and supporting jr-level SEO team members You'll need to have: * A minimum of 2 years' SEO experience: proven prior work experience presenting findings and making recommendations for account optimizations to internal or external clients a must * Proven prior work experience managing accounts withs various goals * The ability to audit client sites: know what to look for and know how to identify and resolve issues/errors * Strong analytical and reporting skills and be proficient inPowerpoint, Excel, and Word * Strong written and verbal communication skills Additional things that will impress us: * A Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred * A Google Analytics and Adwords certification * Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript development and constraints * You are an energetic and creative search marketing enthusiast; eager to roll up your sleeves and be hands on, learn, and grow in the search marketing space * You are entrepreneurial spirited and a self-starter; able to work both independently and in a team environment About Us Best in-class digital marketing results require the best-in-class workforce and our best-in-class workforce ultimately drives the culture at 3Q Digital.
