Legacy Community Health is a premium, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive care to community members regardless of their ability to pay. Our goal is to treat the entire patient while improving their overall wellness and quality of life, in addition to providing free pregnancy tests, HIV/AIDS screening. At Legacy, we empower patients to lead better lives by promoting healthy behaviors and offering resources such as literacy classes, family planning services, and nutrition and weight management information.

Our roots began in 1981 as the Montrose Clinic, with specialization in HIV education, testing, and treatment. Since then, the agency has expanded to >50 clinics in Houston, one in Baytown, 3 in Beaumont, and one in Deer Park with extensive services that include: Adult primary care, HIV/AIDS care, pediatrics, OB/GYN and maternity, dental, vision and behavioral health. We also service students within KIPP and YES Prep schools. Legacy is committed to driving healthy change in our communities.

Position Summary

Manages all physical security operations for Legacy Community Health, including the development and implementation of security related policies and procedures, conducting regular site audits, and managing operations maintain a high level of security for the dynamic Legacy environment.

Essential Duties & Functions

  • Manage the development and implementation of security policies, protocols and procedures based on best practice guidelines.

  • Manage the day-to-day work and behavior of contracted security officers/guards. Escalate issues or concerns to Director, as necessary.

  • Collaborate with other departments/teams to understand and respond to the organizations operational needs.

  • Assist with the planning and coordination of security operations for community and site-specific events.

  • Respond to emergencies and alarms based on coverage schedule, when Director is not available, and/or when additional support is needed.

  • Conduct site security surveys, including identifying and making recommendations on actions to correct deficiencies.

  • Review reports on incidents, breaches, and security violations. Develop action plans and recommendations for changes in procedure and/or operations to ensure work locations, teams, and community members are safe.

  • Manage the Legacy Electronic Access System and Alarm System.

  • Assist the Security Supervisor with new hire orientations and badging operations, as needed.

  • Monitor reports on security systems status. Provide reports and updates as requested. Escalate issues or concerns to Director, as necessary.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Training

  • High School diploma or GED is required.

Required Years of Experience

  • Five (5) years of experience in security for a multi-site environment or in law enforcement is required.

  • Previous experience in reporting and emergency response planning is required.

  • Previous work experience using relevant security technology and equipment, including video surveillance, alarms, and complex badging systems, is required.

Desirable Education and/or Experience

  • Additional security training preferred.

  • Previous work experience using Avigilon video surveillance, Honeywell alarms, and Brivo badge access is preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to effectively communicate across Legacy team, community members, and clients.

  • Strong leadership skills. Able to lead through influence and mentor/develop team.

  • Strong operational understanding of Emergency Management Systems.

  • Knowledge of security/safety protocols and procedures.

  • Understanding of Law Enforcement/Security Operations.

  • Understanding of building intrusion, video surveillance and access control systems.

  • Knowledge of Key Control and Management of Physical and Digital Keys.

  • Knowledge of Fire Alarm Operations and Standards.

  • Working knowledge of MS Office

  • Solid understanding of statistical data analysis

  • This job requires access to confidential and sensitive information, requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management.

  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and decision-making responsibilities.
