the job

This role is critical to the SEC and external reporting function to ensure timely SEC filings, as well as support requests from the external auditors and internal audit.

responsibilities

  • Coordinate information requests and collaborate with other groups and key contributors to SEC reports to obtain the necessary information needed to draft the appropriate disclosures in 10-K and 10-Qs, including Legal, Finance, Tax, and FP&A

  • Create and maintain SEC calendar to inform parties of necessary deadlines and monitor the progress with internal and external parties, including external auditors to ensure and complete timely SEC filings

  • Review and prepare supporting documentation and analyses to support the financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A disclosures, including tie-out support binders

  • Prepare GAAP disclosure checklists to ensure compliance with accounting and SEC guidelines and completeness of financial statements

  • Participate in communications with external auditors on financial statement and accounting issues to align with external auditors on company positions on disclosures and issues (will require collaboration with technical accounting)

  • Review quarterly consolidated balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analyses and the statement of cash flows

  • Manage the detailed XBRL tagging process of financing statements and footnotes (knowledge of upcoming iXBRL requirements is a plus)

  • Responsible for maintaining strong internal controls around the external reporting process to ensure compliance with internal audit and SOX requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience

  • CPA required

  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of integrity and accountability

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to proactively and independently learn business applications, accounting systems, and reporting tools

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, with competing and deadline-sensitive priorities

  • Excellent team player with an ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization, domestically and internationally

  • Entrepreneurial minded with an internal drive to continuously hit goals and succeed

  • Experience excelling within fast paced, high energy environments

Job Description Role: The Senior Accountant is critical to consolidating the global results of Kraft Heinz on a monthly basis and preparing quarterly and annual SEC financial disclosures. This is a high-visibility role, which requires coordinating the flow of information between multiple levels of management and liaising with many internal as well as external groups. In this role, you will work with an experienced team, in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Additionally, this role will perform technical accounting research in order to provide management with timely information for analysis and decision-making. This role will assist in other significant projects, which vary based on our business transactions and priorities (e.g., acquisitions, divestitures, new accounting policies, new types of transactions, training initiatives, benchmarking, etc.). Key Components of the role: * Assisting in monthly consolidation of global results; * Preparing SEC financial filings, including 10-Ks and 10-Qs * Collaborating across our global organization to develop financial information and analysis supporting internal and external reporting needs; * Monitoring U.S. GAAP, SEC and PCAOB developments and evaluating the impacts of new accounting and reporting rules; * Working with external auditors; and * Conducting special projects related to financial reporting or new/developing accounting topics, M&A activity, internal budgeting/analysis, as required. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting; * CPA preferred; * Minimum of two years of experience; * Considerable public accounting experience, with an emphasis in SEC engagements; * Strong work-ethic, communication skills (written and verbal), and drive to learn; * Detail-oriented and organized; * Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills; * Ability to work efficiently and achieve results, while maintaining high quality; and * Excellent analytical, teamwork, and leadership skills.
