The Manager, Search will play a pivotal role in driving strategy and execution across Search, Display, and Digital Video. The ideal candidate will have a proven Search background with direct response experience, the ability to apply detailed knowledge to actionable insights, and an astute attention to detail. This role will also support in the execution of new digital marketing vendors including opportunity evaluation, asset delivery, and reporting.


  • Campaign Management

  • Develop and own the Paid Search strategy to align with digital goals and initiatives

  • Day to day management and optimization of various digital channels, focusing on Search, Display, and Digital Video

  • Drive A/B and multivariate testing programs to continually improve performance across the marketing funnel, from bidding strategies to CTRs to conversions

  • Analyze campaign performance with regular data analysis to measure KPIs, trends, and provide meaningful insights

  • Identify areas of improvements and propose actionable solutions across our digital campaigns

  • Develop processes for analysis, actionable insights, and best practices

  • Maintain accurate budget & spending plan

  • Recommend, plan, and conduct testing opportunities to improve ROI/ROAS

  • Maintain the most-up-to-date knowledge of best practices, alphas, betas, and strategies

  • Digital Media Partnerships

  • Help identify new opportunities and areas of growth that will improve digital media ROI/ROAS

  • Work with 3rd party vendors for specific digital campaigns and initiatives Assist with vendor assessment and proposals

  • Teamwork

  • Work cross-functionality to devise strategies for driving high quality customers

  • Collaboration between teams to better understand our customers and how to reach them


  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing or Finance

  • 4+ years in related field, E-commerce and agency experience preferred Digital media buying experience required

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of other digital marketing channels (Social, Display, Video, Native, etc.) and the media buying ecosystem

  • Proven success with direct response and e-commerce brands or companies

  • Familiar with cohorts and audience segmentation applied to targeting or ad personalization

ISI performs traditional basic and applied research, combined with education and building of operational systems. It provides an academic environment that supports researchers setting their own agendas to address important research problems in computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, and applied physics. * This position is located in Marina del Rey, California.* The project manager assists a principal investigator in managing all phases of large project grants and any subcontracts. Provides leadership and direction for day-to-day project operations and administrative activities. Participates in the planning, design and development of project protocols, data acquisition and management, analysis and reporting of study results. Responsibilities: * Plans, organizes and schedules activities to meet objectives. Ensures that these are well-documented and communicated to project personnel. * Evaluates, recommends and implements procedures for data acquisition, management and quality control. Prepares technical reports and papers on study plans, progress and results of research activities. * Helps to develop and manage project budgets. Prepares and/or directs the preparation of financial reports as required. Directs ongoing purchasing activities including authorizations of one-time major purchases. * Plans and staffs project operations based on proposed research activities and timelines. Includes negotiation and oversight of subcontracted services as necessary. Motivates and monitors the progress of work performed by project staff to include senior technical personnel. * Identifies funding sources and opportunities. Authors technical proposals and/or works with researchers to develop project proposals. Interfaces with funding agencies to exchange information regarding project status and to build and maintain rapport to enhance opportunities for additional funding. * Plans and participates in meetings, discussion groups and other types of events to promote project visibility. Engages in presentations on behalf of the project. * Coordinates and/or links project operations with other administrative and research functions on and off campus. Serves as a key resource for project information and resolves problems or questions referred by internal and external sources. * Establishes and maintains an active network of professional contacts. Preferred Qualifications and Skills: * Management experience: Previous project management experience in a university environment * Computing skills: Experience with relevant software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Overleaf; Internet search tools, web design, and repositories such as GitHub. * Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
