Job Summary The Satellite Laboratory Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing and managing the Children#s South, Lowder and Children#s Park Place Laboratories and its Supervisors, assisting with accreditation requirements for the PPS Laboratories, clinic laboratories within COA, and other satellite laboratories. Under the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, responsible for assisting the Supervisors of direct report in selecting, hiring, training, and counseling personnel. Responsible for recommending capital equipment, writing and reviewing policies # procedures for respective areas, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures for the laboratory. Responsible for overseeing the flow of processes of the direct report Satellite Laboratories, Responsible for helping to maintain quality practices and also ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local laws and regulations, as well as, all applicable accreditation standards (ex: COLA, TJC, CAP, etc). Education Bachelor#s or Master#s Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Biological Science. For Biological Science degree applicants, must be already registered as a Medical Technologist by certification examination before applying. Experience At least 6 years experience working in a clinical laboratory as a medical technologist required for bachelor#s degree applicants, 2 years of experience, training ,or both in non-waived testing. At least 4 years experience working in a clinical laboratory as a medical technologist for Master degree applicants, 1 year of experience, training, or both in non-waived testing. 1-2 year supervisory experience Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries Registered as a Medical Technologist with a national board of registry- ASCP or equivalent required.

  • Education
