Milton CAT is looking for a Manager in the Sales Operations Department. This role will be responsible for all initiatives and escalations related to the preparation of equipment sales and rentals. Duties include, but are not limited to identifying shop capacity issues, prioritizing equipment prep requests, assisting with authorization of equipment repairs, working with contracted vendors, providing back-up support to our asset management team, and setting and tracking monthly forecast numbers. This person is the key point of contact between the Sales and Service Department and requires effective communication to execute initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, management and coordination of all activities pertaining to equipment preparation that has been sold or rented.

  • Identify, manage, and track any shop throughput problems that require resolution with stakeholders.

  • Partner with sales and service supervisors to resolve any internal or external customer issues.

  • Conduct deep dive into business processes and identify areas for improvement.

  • Maintain and ensure we meet our monthly forecast numbers.

  • Communicate and resolve any issues with vendors regarding transportation of equipment from the factory, pre-delivery inspections and 3rd party system installs such as QuickEvac and/or Sitech GPS Technology.

  • Assist the Asset Management team in identifying equipment models we need to add to the rental fleet and what equipment we need to sell or liquidate, based on demand and availability.

  • Assist the Asset Management team by reviewing reported damage, obtain quotes for repair, and determine the most cost-effective repair option.

  • Provide employees continuous and timely support through feedback, problem solving and development opportunities.

  • Manage training schedules and assist in the development of employees.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.

  • Knowledge of the heavy equipment industry is required. Must have a basis understanding of the products that we rent and sell, including work tool attachments.

  • Strong background in inventory management.

  • Proficient in use of technology including Microsoft based programs (Skype, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite).

  • Ability to multitask and possess good written & verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to keep shop on tasks and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency and with minimal supervision.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
