Job Summary:

Responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating projects according to predetermined timelines and budgets. Builds and manages project teams ensuring quality control throughout the project lifecycle. Accomplishes project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities.

The Manager, Sales Program Management is critical to the success of the sales team's performance and productivity. As a member of the influential and collaborative Sales Program Management team, the Manager will ensure the successful operationalizing, deployment, and adoption of sales strategies and programs into the sales organization.

The leader must have effective project management and communication skills, be a change agent, and have the ability to inspire action. This role requires a highly organized and analytical leader who must be able to diagnose and communicate areas of high and low priority, and keep the team focused, on task & on track. Ideal candidate has program & project management, consulting, or strategic planning & execution experience. The leader will report into the Vice President, Sales Portfolio Management.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provides sales leaders with strategic guidance in creating and operationalizing the company's annual business plans and operating plans

  • Supports sales leadership in planning for executive meetings and owning follow up actions

  • Owns the overall Sales Excellence project list and provides support and organization to the team leaders on all projects and deliverables

  • Organizes and runs the weekly Sales Excellence leadership meetings

  • In partnership with the PMO, owns an overall business roadmap and timing of initiatives

  • Benchmarks and drives consistency of the workflow during the sales process for efficiency and scale

  • Creates and implements systems of governance for new and evolving sales polices and strategies

  • Diagnoses inconsistencies and objectively evaluates the need for customized solutions. Uncovers best practices and areas of concern in adoption of strategy and addresses directly with relevant leaders

  • Works with various managers and leaders to lay out project implementation guidelines and plan for manpower and/or other resource requirements.

  • Manages projects of major importance to overall business operations by reporting status, tracking delays, and making required adjustments.

  • Determines overall staffing requirements relating to corporate projects. Conducts interviews, hires, and trains new employees for specific project assignments.

  • Directs project teams in the development and implementation of project plans.

  • Negotiates, administers, and monitors contracts.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Job Specification:

As a Project/Program Manager you will be responsible for accomplishing various analytical studies and/or projects relating to substantive, mission-oriented programs of the Internal Revenue Service. The studies or projects involve complex programs, systems, or issues and have impact on multiple IRS locations and/or organizations. In this role you will coordinate the impact of the project with employees and managers in all affected areas within the Service and with individuals and organizations outside the Service. Specifically, you will use your analytical and technical skills to conduct in-depth analyses of project data, requirements, and impact and you will identify problem areas and determine how to resolve them.
