Position Summary

The Sales Operations Manager will work closely with Sales, Sales Training, and Marketing to support the Sales Team and facilitate all sales operations-related activities to help meet business objectives.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Work with Internal and External partners to build best in class analytical and CRM sales tools.

  • Manage the CRM tools and other Sales Operations field tools including being the primary liaison with vendors and the subject matter expert for questions from the field-based team members.

  • Responsible for leading Fleet Management by developing, monitoring and refining all fleet operations.

  • Work closely with Sales Training on the development and roll-out of educational materials, sales reports and new systems.

  • Partner with the US Sales Leadership Team in preparation and review of Key Performance metrics, Business plans, Quarterly Business Reviews, Customer presentations

  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in the Sales process. Work closely with the field to identify the opportunities, develop an action plan, monitor execution and report out performance.

  • Drive the reporting process to provide accurate and timely reports to the field team and address specific questions in an effective manner.

  • Manage the development process of key sales force effectiveness metrics to be shared internally with the Sales organization and the Zogenix executive team

  • Work directly with Sales Leadership and field personnel in providing professional and timely sale operational support.

  • Ensure adherence to equipment, travel & expense policies and compliance with Sunshine Act Reporting.

  • Responsible for proper SOP documentation related to duties and responsibilities within the operations and support teams.

  • Lead any special projects with the goal of improving sales productivity

Core Competencies, Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • PC literacy required; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic environment

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a matrix environment, and aptitude in establishing and maintaining relationships across the organization.

  • Proven project management skills to execute multiple projects with tight deadlines, including attention to detail and follow-through



  • Bachelor's Degree


  • A BA/BS and at least 5 years' sales operations or related experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industries.

  • Biotech and/or pharmaceutical launch experience in US market is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors and service levels.


  • Regularly required to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, etc.)

  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.

  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.

  • Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment.

  • Close vision required for computer usage.

  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities * Contributes to contracting strategies in competitive markets, supporting analysis of competitive contracting scenarios including innovative contracting approaches * Engages with sales forecasting and analysis, market access, finance and contracting operations teams to build and develop internal insights and analysis capabilities to assess contract performance. * Oversees development of pre-deal analysis plans and also establishes a process for post-deal analytics including communication to key stakeholders * Develops and delivers trade partner and GPO data reports sourced internally and externally to support the Market Access team's contracting strategy and execution * Provides data analytics expertise to support our business with retail pharmacies, wholesalers and other trading partners by developing data reports for contract negotiation, implementation and ongoing review, trading partner performance assessments and distribution model optimization * Assists Commercial Operations teams in development of metrics and materials for business reviews with trading partners and GPOs, including KPIs and scorecards to track partners for contract compliance. * Engages with stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure quality of data in all reports, by problem solving and ensuring implementation of solutions * Integrates data and information from various sources to feed business case analysis, reporting, scorecards, etc. * Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders including other functional areas and external service providers Qualifications * Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, managed care, or market access contracting required * Bachelor's degree in Business or Science discipline required * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Must have proficiency with coordinating, processing and reporting data. * Must have strong communication skills to work effectively across internal functions and external partners. * Possesses excellent attention to detail. * Key competency required include but not limited to: * Must be able to perform under tight deadlines and balance multiple priorities, * Collaborative and team-oriented Dynavax is an Equal Opportunity Employer Dynavax Emeryville CA
