Manager, Risk Management

The Manager, Clinical Risk shall assist the Director, Risk Management and General Counsel in the management of the organization-wide risk management program, as well as to provide guidance to clinical and medical staff. The Manager will develop and maintain systems within Baptist Health to detect, monitor, prevent, organize, measure, investigate, report, and manage malpractice claims, serious adverse events, and other indicators of potential patient harm. This position requires on-call responsibilities.

• Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Minimum 3-5 years hospital risk management experience preferred.

• Broad knowledge of healthcare regulations including TJC, CoPs, Alabama state, and federal regulations also required.

• Knowledge of federal regulations regarding patient rights related to grievances also preferred.

• Must have a broad knowledge of hospital systems, standards of care, and legal aspects of patient care

• Working knowledge of team development, functions, and group dynamics

• Knowledge of adult learning principles

• Ability to analyze data for risk management implications

• Excellent organizational skills for process development and coordination

• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to interact well with all levels of staff, and to motivate others

• Proven leadership skills with strengths in organizational development and the capacity to handle diverse activities in a fast paced environment

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite

• Must possess excellent written communication skills

• Must be self-directed and highly motivated with problem solving abilities

• This position requires on-call responsibilities
